Kurenai was somewhat enthralled by a rather interesting article about some company she had never heard of buying up a host of abandoned warehouses along the wharf, so she hadn't heard Roy walk up. Slightly surprised to hear his voice, she glanced up at him while smirking slightly and putting the paper down. A simple scan of his features informed her of how stressed he was feeling, and she had to stop herself from lapsing into shrink-mode as opposed to friend-mode.

"Big Foot has been getting to everyone lately. How did he get you?" She figured she'd let Roy talk first, hoping maybe he wouldn't notice her lingering confusion and annoyance over recent events. Without really thinking of what was coming out of her mouth she laughed, shaking her head as she waited for him to sit.

"You know, in all the time I've known you we've never just gone out for coffee. How do you take yours, or are you one of those fancy caffeinated beverage drinkers?" She had no idea why she felt vaguely nervous, stupid Uchiha.

"Ah, so sneakily." she nodded knowingly, smiling at Roy in a more friendly manner than he was probably used to seeing. It had taken her a few moments to reconcile her own agitation, but Kurenai had successfully pushed their psychologist/patient relationship to the back of her mind in favor of the far lighter type of relationship she had always avoided with Roy. She knew how tricky it could be to navigate the conversation, but Kurenai was certain both she and Roy could handle it. Besides, she could only bug him about his feelings for so long before they both admitted they kind of enjoyed the avoidance dance
