Not really. Many villages are built on rivers due to the economical value of having an extra form of transportation near the village.

Or at least, that would be the case if this wasn't the only village in the barrier.

It sounds pretty weird, but I've been here three months now and it looks like everything's true. So basically from now until who knows when, your job is to find somewhere to live and do your hardest not to get bored.
