I plan on breaking in the new (used) bread machine* today and surprising him with the smell of fresh baked bread when he gets home tonight. =D

Good find! I personally purchased a bread machine to take my success rate up to 50/50. May you have so much better luck!

And yay for the hubby going off to work. Hopefully my Scott will be next!

Just had to add: I do follow the instructions. Both for the machine and the bread recipe I'm using. I, much like with plants, seem to have a black bread thumb.

And regarding bread machines... I found my success was about 60/40 until I actually RTFM and put the ingredients in the proportions and order as suggested by the manufacturer. Now I have yummy, hearty, crusty bread every time!
