I woke up at 9:00 to house keeping trying to come into the room! I didn't exactly want them coming in when we weren't even out of bed yet so was super glad that I dead bolted the door. By this point I was too awake (Nic had barely budged, haha!) so I got up and took a shower, although it was quite confusing. European bathrooms are just made so damn confusing, it took me awhile to get the shower done! There was a temperature setting for the hot water and completely forgetting it would be in Celsius I put it up way past 40 degrees! D: As Nic was getting ready, house keeping came AGAIN. And I told them we were checking out before noon so we didn't need them to come in. Honestly, I was a bit pissed that they were so persistent, they should have just looked to see how many nights we were staying.
Once Nic was out of the shower we made sure we had everything before heading back downstairs to check out. The hotel was nice enough to let us keep our luggage there while we went and explored London for the day. (I couldn't even imagine attempting to carry that darn bag around!) I realized when we got outside that it was a bit chilly so was glad I had my hoody with me! We went to get breakfast at this place called Cafe Nero (I got fresh fruit and a blueberry muffin) and then went on our way to Trafalgar Square. Honestly, anyone thinking about where they should go while in London, GO THERE. Nic wanted me to try some of the ice cream they sold in the park and it's super yummy! I feel like it's a bit creamier than some of the stuff we get here, which I like! We took some pictures around there and then went into the National Gallery, which is free! Although you kind of look like an ass if you don't donate anything at one of the donation boxes in the entrance! Of course I donated some money, it is so worth it to go in there. I don't think I've ever been so emotional looking at paintings before, but I have a huge amount of respect for Vincent Van Gogh and it was great seeing his work up close! After that we walked around St. James Park (correct me if I'm wrong, I think that's the park near Buckingham Palace) before we headed over to see the palace! Since it was the weekend the Mall was closed off to cars so we could walk right down the street. :)
When we got up there I was trying to get a good picture and since I'm vertically challenged I went to put my feet up on the cement part of the fence. I thought one of the guards had yelled at me, you had to see how quickly I got down! Thankfully he had been yelling at someone else, but it really freaked me out! I also got a picture with a police officer while we were down there! As well as someone dressed as a Roman Centurion, LMAO!

We sat down on some benches near one of the fountains which felt SO nice because it was getting pretty hot out. And by that point we were also feeling pretty hungry so we went to Pizza Express where I got this pizza that had a whole cut out in the middle and it was replaced with salad. It was ok but I feel like they went way too light on the sauce and cheese! Haha :D Since we still had some time to kill before we had to head to the train station we went back through the park and sat down in a nice shady spot. After a little while we went back to the hotel to get our things and headed to the train station. On the train we were sitting next to a little boy and his dad who had clearly gone to the Doctor Who Experience. So Nic told me to look away so I wasn't spoiled by anything! The little kid was so enthusiastic, it was adorable! Haha :D The ride back was a bit longer than some of the other train rides, but Nic and I killed time pretty easily by talking about Doctor Who! I also felt someone staring at me and turned slowly to see this guy that was kind of sitting behind me staring at me. O.O I don't know if he was just listening in our conversation or was wondering if he should ask me where I was from, but either way it was pretty unnerving!
By the time we got back to Sheffield it was a bit late but we were hungry once again so Nic went to KFC to get some food. I had mini-cheddars and Quorn scotch eggs back at the house to eat, so I just had those! :) I spoke to my entire family on Skype, including my best friend Lauren and then Nic and I uploaded the videos and pictures from the weekend onto her computer! I stayed up a bit later than her as I was feeling a bit wired from the excitement from the weekend. :)
