My copy of The Hunger Games arrived on Monday. I'm 110 pages into it, and the only person who died is the father in flashback. We have 23 deaths to go!!! It is a toned down straight forward version of Battle Royale, which came out in 1999 in US and Japan. Working 60 hour weeks or mind numbing intensity, then putting in back up offers on houses, and fixing my 401(k)/IRA situation, which hasn't been easy with my broker. I'm'a have to call him today. He's flakey in the worst possible way. I may need a new agent dude.

My real estate agent has been the best though.

I read an English translation of Battle Royale years ago and was pleased by the politics. I was a bit disappointed that the rebellion in the Hunger Games was on a simmer instead of a boil, but as I work through the other books in the trilogy it looks like there's a bigger story unfolding.
