“I thought you liked holidays,” Arthur said as he frowned, waiting for Alfred to open his door all the way. The younger man was peeking out of a small crack in the door and he repeatedly told Arthur that he was not feeling well. Arthur scowled because Alfred sounded perfectly fine and he eventually shoved his way inside, ignoring the yelp of his lover who had been sent sprawling to the floor from the force of the shove.
It took a couple seconds for Alfred to regain his bearings but once he did, he jumped up, an uncharacteristic frown on his face. He didn’t exactly like being bossed around by his lover, especially since he suspected Arthur did that just to see how far he could push the Blutbad. Stupid Grimm… And yet, Alfred couldn’t help but be completely enamored with Arthur Kirkland.
Even if Arthur was a big fat jerk who had just broken into his house.
“I told you, Arthur, that we can’t do anything today because I’m busy!” Alfred whined and tried to shove his lover out the door. “I have important work to do!” Even though that important work was sitting in front of the television and watching romantic movies on his own while pigging out on chocolate. Hey, that was how all his Valentine’s Days were and he was not going to change it just because of Arthur.
Arthur glared at Alfred and dragged the Blutbad into a kiss, effectively distracting the other from his train of thought. “Alfred, love, I’m not going to leave you alone on Valentine’s Day. That would be rude and silly, because you have someone to spend it with now. So just come with me and we’ll have a nice romantic dinner together, okay?” He gently took Alfred’s hand and started leading the other to the door.
Alfred pouted after being kissed, because dammit, Arthur was really good at that and it always made him forget what was going on. “W-Wait! Let me at least get my keys!” He grumbled and shook off Arthur’s hand before grabbing his keys off the table in the entryway. “You’re so pushy sometimes! I don’t know why I put up with you.”
“Because you love me, silly.” Arthur pulled Alfred into another kiss because taking his hand once more and leading him to his car.

Arthur parked the car outside his house and practically dragged Alfred inside. It had taken longer than expected to get Alfred here, so he was worried about the food. Not that he had cooked it himself, of course, but he didn’t want it to grow cold, because he did not want to reheat it. He was a disaster in the kitchen, as much as he hated to admit it, but any food that he tried to prepare always turned out burnt.
Alfred was whining about some nonsense as Arthur opened the door and he couldn’t help but smirk when Alfred quickly shut up. It had taken hours but Arthur had decorated the entire house with white and pink flowers and hearts. The dining table had a nice white tablecloth covering it, with nice silver utensils and china plates laid out for the two of them. The food was already set out on the table; its delicious smell attracted Alfred and he couldn’t help but go over to it.
“Everything is vegetarian… and there’s no red… Arthur, how did you know that’s why I hated Valentine’s Day?” Alfred turned to look at his lover, an excited grin plastered on his face.
“I figured it out. You don’t like the color red and that’s pretty much everywhere today. Really, Alfred, there wasn’t much else that would keep a holiday loving Blutbad like yourself from celebrating something that revolved around love and chocolate.” Arthur laughed and went over to Alfred, pulling him into a hug. “Now, let’s eat, shall we?”

After dinner and dessert, Arthur left Alfred upstairs, who laughed at how cheesy Arthur was making a trail to the bedroom out of pink rose petals. But he stopped mocking Arthur once they were pressed close together. Their lips found each other’s and their hands touched and caressed whatever skin they could find. They fell onto the bed, clothes thrown aside as they tangled themselves together, making it impossible to tell where one of them started and the other began.
Arthur moved and Alfred followed, letting the Grimm be completely in control in this situation. Something in the back of Alfred’s head told him that he was betraying all his ancestors by not ripping out Arthur’s throat but he ignored it in favor of move in time with the body above him.
“I love you, Arthur,” Alfred mumbled as he pressed kissing to Arthur’s neck.
Smiling softly, Arthur pressed a kiss to Alfred’s forehead and said, “I love you too.”

“Must you snuggle so close? I’m starting to lose feeling in my legs with you draping yourself over me like this.” Arthur frowned down at Alfred, who was sprawled across his lap, with his arms wrapped tightly around Arthur.
The Blutbad shook his head and rested it against Arthur’s stomach, humming happily. “This is seriously the best Valentine’s Day ever! Thank you, Artie!”
Arthur’s frown deepened and he gently swatted Alfred on the head with his hand. “Don’t call me Artie. It’s Arthur. Besides, you scream Arthur in bed.” He smirked as he watched Alfred’s face turn bright red at his words. Ah well, he could never pass up an opportunity to tease his lover. “I am glad you are happy, though,” he said, as he grew serious. If today hadn’t gone as planned, well… he didn’t want to think about that.
Lying down, Arthur gently pulled Alfred closer so he could lie next to him and he pressed a kiss softly to his lips. He felt Alfred smile against his mouth and he pulled back, a smile on his lips as he said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Alfred. I hope we spend many more together.”
“Of course,” Alfred said as he snuggled close to Arthur’s side, “We’ll have lots of Valentine’s Days together, because no matter what, I’ll help you, because I love you.”
