Oh, wow! It was true in tone and character to both shows, which isn't easy to accomplish.

I admit I do love a good h/c and Peter sacrificing himself for Peter, twice and not wanting to cause El such profound sadness was touching. Book was the perfect companion for sorta-dead!Neal in this story. He generates a calm, respect that Neal would resond to and listen to what he says and that allowed him to help guide our favorite thief into recognizing his choices and thinking out the consequences. Extra touch I liked was the 'bar' being seen differently to each soul within it. Also, Book saying he died by violence and by doing violence, but that he had hoped to go out a different way, yet he wasn't bitter. I did give a little fangirl squee when he mentioned missing the company of the Firefly crew and that he was waiting for them to join him before he moved on.

This was a fantastic crossover!

Beautiful story. I haven't seen the movie for reference, but I didn't feel it was needed.

Oh, that was wonderful. I can totally see Book waiting for his crew and he and Neal hitting it off. Well done. :D

Very well done! You really made the seemingly odd crossover work too.
