You should definitely read Locke&Key! It's a comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodrigez. It's set in Lovecraft, Massachusetts and that pretty much sets the tone.

True Detective is good, although the female characters could have more agency or voice more than being victims or naked bodies, even given that is a misogynist world the author is intending to portray and criticize.

The King in Yellow- only about the first five stories apply. The first four directly mention the King in Yellow, while there's another "The Demoiselle d'Ys" and a poem sequence that fit the weird atmosphere. More info on the stories here. The other stories are romances often about doomed love amongst artists in Paris, since light/melodramatic romance was what Chambers usually wrote. The bohemian life can get tiring to read about in his style, so if those later stories lose your interest, that's no problem to understanding the Yellow/Hastur mythos.
