So it comes out today that DC decided to boot Gail Simone off of Batgirl, a baffling decision considering that the book has good sales and critical reception. Why? Well, twitter offers a tantalizing clue:

when I open up the comment field to respond I feel my mind grind to a halt as every word I type sounds dopey and insincere and gah.

Stole the words right out of my mouth. That's EXACTLY how I am when I try to reply to comments that have been sitting around for a while. "Thank you" always seems too shallow and when I try to write something more substantial, I feel like I starting a novel and if all the plot plots and characters aren't aligned then it'll just come out GAAHHHH!!

But don't feel bad. Also thanks to personal experience, I know the giddiness writers feel when they get feedback, even if they don't respond. I still plan on doing long-ass reviews for my favorites like I did for "Where Your Love Begins" and "Clearing the Air."

Btw, I added "Where Your Love Begins" and "This Temporary Flesh and Bone" to the rec list I mentioned before.
