Oh. Oh, no, Dean. Please tell me there's enough of you left that you'll hold still when Anna kills you.
The problem, of course, is that Cas was already screwed up when Dean told him the "plan". Otherwise he'd have wondered why Dean wasn't letting him lose to help fight their way out. Between the two of them they could've gotten away and called in an airstrike...
I like to think that she freaks out when she realizes they moved him, drags Balthazar out of Heaven and they tear the planet apart looking.
I like that. Of course Cas wouldn't forgive them, but they know that. They might be able to get through to him eventually.
Of course he was. Dean knows what he's doing - Alastair doesn't pick apprentices who aren't good at their jobs.
My question is: which is worse? For Dean to hold on to the lie to the bitter end, or for him to admit it? I lean towards the former being worse, but I'm not sure.
This! This is everything I love about fics. Yeah, I like cracky, schmoopy, fluffy, happily-ever-after with a side of porn shit too. Fics like yours, that twist your insides and rip out your heart, are very special to me. Why? Because when all the other fics are said and done, very few will stay in my mind and just make me *think*. I like thinking, I like the betrayal and icky feelings(I am *so* damaged). All in all I can count on one hand the fics that have nagged and tugged at my mind long after reading. Proud to say that this one's now on that list too. I'm bookmarking this and doing a more through re-read later. Thank you!
Best form of torture is to make your victim think you are on his side. Cas you poor fool. Dean is NOT looking for a way to hurt Alastair. He is enjoying himself too much.

OMG, I'm Cas! I always think it's going to be ok in the end and it never is.
I'm off to find some fluffy fluff to fluff myself with.
But it was very well written, even if you did traumatise me :)
