That was very nearly perfect, because Kali needs to bring back Gabriel and as far as the mythology of her goes she has the power to do that.

Was it just me or did you allude to Gabe being a reincarnated Shiva? Either way it was interesting.

And it was very like her to be angry that someone had the 'sheer arrogance' to kill someone who is hers.

Seconding the Hindu mythology love, especially the way you incorporated the colour black. And this fandom is woefully lacking in Kali/Gabriel. <3
I love how you've made her so cold and calculating with Gabriel, but then written in bits of vulnerability like Because my blood froze when I saw you still and empty.

was the voice of my husband Shiva, calling from among the dead." She leaned forward. "Was that you, even then? Has it always been you?"

Wait... are you implying that he was tricking her...?
I'm confused.

ETA: Oh, and a very belated thank you for the virtual gifts! <3

I'm actually a little OTP about Gabriel/Kali. I have a hard time reading him paired with anyone else.:)

Oh, he was running around calling himself Loki in Hammer of the Gods, and it seemed clear she'd been taken in by that. She strongly suspects here that the god she knew as Shiva was also had been him the whole time, and probably that every time she took up with someone new it was actually Gabriel wearing a new face. Which of course he refuses to confirm or deny.:)

Aw, you're very welcome!

Ah, okay, that clears it up. :) I was thinking you meant the real Shiva never existed, which... doesn't make a lot of sense. :P
