You still really need to read Slaughterhouse Five. I'm not letting that go. Of course, I rather enjoyed many of the shorts and essays. Although its all quite good.
One of the first real "subversive" books I ever read in school was Welcome To The Monkey House.
I remember my 7th grade English teacher telling me "Look...this is a really good book, but some parts of it are really contraversial. ESPECIALLY The Title Story. So I would appreciate it if you DIDN'T read that part, and don't tell your parents what we're reading.
Heh heh... is it any wonder this particular teacher was one ofsagawizard's first real mentors.
