Pinot noir is not my thing in general, but I'll keep an eye out for that chardonnay...

R Wines also does a cab that they call "Evil." I didn't pick it up because I needed a white for dinner that night and still had the Castle Rock and a bottle of Big House Red waiting at home. Hopefully Jenny Street still has both Evil and Pure Evil the next time I'm in. Jenny Street has significantly expanded their wine shelving...took out the flowers, card, and magazines section in the front of the store and put in floor-to-ceiling wine racks. I'm pleased!

I hope that we didn’t drive them to drink last weekend. :)

Lynne and I do almost no research when we buy wine. We set a price range at the Trader Joe’s and just grab whatever looks interesting. My francophone wife tends to lean towards the French wines. She’s also not a big fan of anything white.

Personally, I grew up with a family that drinks White Zinfandel from a box. My standards are fairly low.

Oh, I did all the research after having bought and consumed. Pure Evil was bought based entirely on the name; Castle Rock's Pinot entirely on price.

Both the places I shop will sometimes put up little blurbs and ratings from Wine Advocate or Wine Spectator. If the price is right, I'll usually give those a try as both WA and WS are usually pretty accurate gages of how much we'll like a wine.

Everything I know about tasting wine comes from years of living and buying wine with heresluck. She actually took a wine tasting class; I'm just an opinionated blow-hard.
