Time is irrelevant when the will which had held Jaehyo up begins to crumble.
The days begin to blend together in a mass of clashing of schedules. Whispered times, dates, and schedules till they're burnt into your neurons and A situation where being pulled to and from by a managers who sleep in shifts becomes the norm. PDAs beep incessantly about this, that, and the other thing keeping the group from a full-battery charging rest. Times, dates, meetings, appointments. Keep up, keep up, smile from the heart, fall in, fall out. Heart beats now synced to beats of another tune and the palpitation rocks the system, throwing each for a loop.
Which steps go where, who wrote this script.
Hand flip here, toe slide, chic and suave or footloose and fancyfree.
Heaving, clutching at his chest, Jaehyo's white knuckles find a surface to cling as he tries to remember the last time he ate a proper meal. Where any of them did. One where they sat down and truly enjoyed it.
Some days he regrets ever thinking there was something better than normal.
It's on those day they find each other. In those brief instances he can recall the taste of kimbap on the roof of his mouth where it's a little too sensitive.
In the end, he feels he has become addicted to a certain kind of sadness.
The kind which pulls at his heart and urges him to do better, be better, make this fatigue worth the turmoil he slugs through. A melancholy that itches under his skin and irritates his veins.
'Hyo, breathe.'
Jiho speaks through a mouthful of noodles, chopsticks poised above the cup. Slurping them noisily he continues to eat and make his way around Jaehyo who slips his way to the floor. He's thankful, in a way, with the distance. The calm disconnection between his turmoil and Jiho's composure.
He can break down, and the world moves on.
In these moments he breathes normality.
