NEW YORK (CNN) -- The family of a woman who died ignored on an emergency room floor has reached a settlement with Health and Hospital Corp., the family's lawyer and the company's top executive said Thursday.
I spent about 2 hours in a waiting room before anyone would see me because I was only passing out, not bleeding or vomiting. Then I got to go to a little room, be ignored for about another hour, had a few minutes with a nurse, got another hour alone....you get the picture. Even with my mother there to pester them for me, everyone else got seen because they were puking or bleeding. If I really had appendicitis like we thought when I went in, I could've easily been dead an hour before anyone noticed.
