The Bitch of Living

The city lives, and it moves as she moves,

It speaks through the mouths of its children,

Whispered words, drunken shouts,

The dreams of the homeless,

Feet pounding sidewalks, heels tapping,

And she walks down the street,

With the pulse of the city in her breast,

And the kiss of Broadway upon her lips.

A highly peotic view of city life and wholly fitting. I feel muchly sorry for those who don't have it in them to see life from a poet's point of view. I think it's the poets who are able to find some bit of poignance or beauty in anything, no matter how dreary or worn it is. Your view on life captivates me. It's one of the things I've long since admired in you. Love you. <3
