I don't get it...

For some odd reason, in my photos, people seem to have a real thing for my green socks. I have a few photos of me wearing green socks (and not much, if anything, else), and they tend to generate commentary that the green socks are what makes the picture for the viewer. Aw, thanks! They were a blast to do. Sadly, though, there probably won't be many photos with those red fishnets. You couldn't see it in those photos, but they're pretty badly torn up. I shall have to get new ones one of these days.

I so need to start playing with my camera. I usually have people take photos for me but heck its getting annoying trying to find someone. Any tips?

First Question: Does the camera have a timer mode of some sort? If so, learn to use it. It's how I get my self-portraits done--there are three modes on the timer, but I tend to favor the one that snaps a photo after ten seconds, and then a second one eight seconds after that.

Second Question: Got a tripod? They aren't required, per se (I don't have one of my very own--I usually place the camera on a piece of furniture/stack of books/music stand, etc.), but they can help position the camera to help you make sure you get the shot that you want.
