Thanks! I think I'll wait a little while to see just how total it is before planning a ceremony, but if it looks like it's sticking, then that would make sense.

Just now she came home without her usual "Milk!" as soon as she saw me. She asked for milk over lunch and I said "Sure. My nipples are still purple though." And she said. "Hmm. I changed my mind. I don't want milk."
"OK."
"Why OK?"
"Because you never have to have milk."
"Why?"
"Because you're a big girl and can get everything you need from food."
And we moved on.

She's having one of her won't-nap days, but that's nothing new, so I don't know how related it is.

as someone who is currently in a protracted battle with yeast i fully support your need to use the gentian violet until the yeast is gone so it doesn't come back immune to it ( ... )

Sounds like it was nice to sneak in a sleepy midnight nursing, even if it's really for you. :D

It's very interesting to read about this process, being in my first week of nursing. Right now it's still pretty excruciating at the start and a dull ache throughout. And yet, it's one of the most wonderful things I've done.

well, if Nadia's done with it, Zach will take it. ;) He just put himself to sleep for his nap, without any nursing, because he was fussing that he wanted "pretend Miriam's side!" not Mommy's side. So I told him to close his eyes and pretend to nurse from "pretend Miriam", sang him a song, and left.

Have I mentioned that my kiddo is a freak?

Wow. I'm honored, I suppose. He's a good freak. :> But it's going away pretty quickly really.

I still don't know where this is going, because she's still periodically telling me that she's sad that my nipples are purple and we had one nurse last night just like the night before. But she just went to sleep for her first actual nap since all of this, and resettled other times last night without.

i love all the pretend life he's got going on. i think its awesome that he is in between all out pretend and real. making up possible stuff about actual people who are not around at the time. very cool if weird from an all pretend or all real perspective.
