Jaejoong pressed his cheek against the window of his classroom as his classmates chattered loudly behind him. He let out a puff of breath, seeing the condensation form on the cold glass before drawing out his name against the fog with his finger.
"Ah, right on time," Jaejoong heard his best friend say and he looked up just in time to see his boyfriend peek his head in the doorway of the classroom searching for him. Immediately, Jaejoong smiled happily and grabbed the lunch box he made from home off his desk and hurried over to the taller boy.
"What took you so long? I thought you’d never come."
Changmin looked down and sneered, nudging the older boy in the forehead with a finger,
"My extra credit is more important than you."
"And my food isn’t important to you anymore?" Jaejoong said back. Changmin seemed to hesitate at that, but before Jaejoong could say his victory, the taller boy snatched the boxed lunch from his hands and began walking down the hall.
Jaejoong followed after him and stopped when he passed by a window to the side courtyard where he noticed that there was a vacant round table outside shaded from the snow by a wooden roof. An idea slowly came to mind.
"Let’s eat outside," Jaejoong suggested. Changmin stopped and looked at him like he was crazy.
"What?" Jaejoong wondered.
"You’re crazy to think that eating lunch outside in the snow would be a good idea," Changmin said.
"The scenery is beautiful," Jaejoong said in his defense.
"And I’m not about to freeze my butt off for a chance to see icicles hanging from the trees or to see the white fresh snow on the ground," Changmin finalized.
"We could keep warm by cuddling," Jaejoong offered, hoping to make the younger boy give in. But Changmin only glared at him,
"No."
"Oh, come on. When was the last time we cuddled -"
"Last night, in your bed," Changmin monotone. Jaejoong smiled,
" - in public?"
Changmin rolled his eyes, “Everyone knows that we’re a couple by now. So there’s no need to show everyone.”
"I’m not showing anybody anything," Jaejoong said with a tilt of his chin. Changmin raised an eyebrow,
"I don’t believe you."
"Come on, please?" Jaejoong tugged at Changmin’s sleeves. Changmin clenched his teeth,
"Fine. Just this once."
One step outside of the school building, had Changmin shuddering. But Jaejoong immediately made a beeline to the round table and sat down.
"Over here," Jaejoong waved him over. Changmin walked towards the older boy and sat down as close as he could in order to share some body heat that his boyfriend had somewhat promised him.
"Let’s eat fast," Changmin’s teeth chattered as he rubbed his hands together. Jaejoong just smiled cheekily at the scene and opened two containers of kimbap. Changmin quickly dug in.
"Slow down or you’ll choke," Jaejoong chuckled, pulling out his thermos and proceeded to pour a cup of hot tea. Changmin stuffed another slice of kimbap into his mouth before accepting the cup of tea.
Jaejoong watched the younger boy eat with a satisfied smile. Changmin noticed the other boy staring and stopped,
"You’re not eating?"
"I’m full with happiness from the fact that you love my food so much," Jaejoong said with giddiness. Changmin swallowed his food,
"You’ve become weird, hyung."
Jaejoong only chuckled and looped his hand around the other’s unoccupied arm and snuggled close. The contrast between the winter wind against his cheeks and the body heat emitted from his boyfriend’s body on his side, was the perfect feeling he had ever felt.
