Lightweight Meta!

Until about six hours ago, I was absolutely sure that I was prepared to meet any kind of paranormal anomaly. Seriously, be it creature, spirit, hell, maybe even a demon: bring it on. I've done so much research about this stuff, and I know how to protect myself (or at least what several different cultures say will do the trick). I've even gone on a ( Read more... )

Well, that freaked me out hardcore 0_0

I've always been fascinated by the supernatural, too. So by default I read every last word of this post with an almost heightened sense of interest but...definitely still gave me goosebumps.

I have seen some really creepy, fucked up stuff in my short lifetime that I am 99.9% sure had to do with a spirit(s) but of course it was never anything that I could prove so I tend not to talk about it. And I would have to agree with you that people who don't believe in the paranormal don't believe in it for a reason; they're not open to that incoming stimuli and therefore will never encounter anything to make them think otherwise. And since I completely believe in that type of thing and have always been utterly paranoid of being confronted face-to-face with a apparition of some sort, I think my hyper-sensitivity is the reason for the experiences I've had.

Of course, I live in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. We have the #1 most haunted battlefield in the United States and our town is the battlefield so...it ( ... )

Haha, well then yeah, I guess you *would* be likely to experience some stuff, then! I'm sure it's pretty crazy there ( ... )

I'm glad you actually read through the whole thing! Haha. I'm typing it up and laughing because I'm absolutely sure that no one is going to get through the novel I'm about to post.

I totally know that feeling! Sometimes I'm just rambling happily away in my journal, all the while thinking, "Who actually reads this crap?" And then usually I'm surprised that there's always at least one person who does. Guess I'm your person ;D Although as interesting as your post was, I can't imagine other people not wanting to read it. Unless it scared the crap out of them. Heh.

I've also experienced quite a bit of other stuff aside from the things in this post; I'm not sure if I've always been "open" to it, or if that was something that developed later on. I think for me it really did develop later on. I'm pretty sure I've always believed in ghosts and things of the supernatural variety but I don't think I believed it with any kind of real forthcoming vulnerability. I believed but I was young and being haunted wasn't even a blip on my radar. And I ( ... )

Hey, mira, this needs an update, methinks. Oh, but, drat, now you're doing NaNo. Guess this means you won't be involved in "Olio" for a while, either. Anyway, I'd be curious about whatever might've happened since ( ... )

Regarding Olio activity: There are a lot of questions floating around right now, and I have answers, so I'm planning on posting. I'm just not sure how soon that will be. I'm just now getting to where I'm comfortable with my plot...might be a couple of days until I'm able to post anything with any real amount of research behind it.

I'll make a really quick post tonight, now that I'm thinking about it.

Regarding...this stuff:
Um, ha, a lot has happened since this post. It's been a while. Wow. Um, I might have to make a follow-up post at some point and detail it all out. Unfortunately, I'm going to sound completely insane ( ... )

I'll look forward to reading about whatever you've encountered.

You remember correctly about the EVP I captured, and I am absolutely convinced that it was, indeed, a man's voice. I've rationalized the other sounds, but there's no other explanation for the voice.
