ETA2: So, a lot of people are doubting on this theory. I think it covers the "Why things were deranked months ago" and "Why Amazon is claiming that it removes 'adult material'" arguments pretty well, but I know little to nothing about the computer coding, so that part doesn't stand up, indeed. just a heads up that weev's code doesn't actually work.

i also tested out myself. he's just trying to claim responsibility.

augh. sorry for the crappy code.

Also, this is a good article about another possibility of how it occurred, if not by tehdely's theory, which is still possible, just not by this guy I don't think.

I just don't buy that Amazon indiscriminately removed rankings from EVERYTHING with certain labels, on a holiday weekend. I don't know. Possibly the hack did not occur; but the alternate theory doesn't make sense to me.

well, whehter he did it or not, i'm pretty impressed. what a quick way to hope into the national media headlines o_O.

i like the guy ^_^ he has some philosophies behind his madness that I really am on the same page with. sure, i don't spout off with racist and anti-semitic trash but that's just not my method. and, they seem to work for him... he gets the results he wants.

as you said, even though the prank was for lulz, there were also massive security holes exposed... i like him for the same reason that i appreciate and will always adore any trickster.... loki, coyote, puck. it doesn't look pretty, but it works, and at the end of the day, what matters is what works.
