Title: Mistake Scandal Chap 5

Genre:  Romance

Chapter: 5/?

Rating: PG-13

Pairing: KyuHyun + Sungmin (gender change!) + Taemin, the son.

Summary:

“The guy must have left you, right?” Clenching my fist even more tightly, I held my tears back, and the urge to sweep my palm across KyuHyun’s face. Even if he did not acknowledge himself as Taemin’s father, how could he just stand there and watch me get humiliated?

“APPA DIDN’T LEAVE US!” Taemin screamed agitatedly at her as I carried him up quickly.

Note: I got the idea from “Speed Scandal”; I think everyone should watch it! Please please please comment. Thanks :D

 3rd person POV

“I’m going out a while.” KyuHyun informed them; Sungmin walked towards the kitchen and nodded her head curtly. Closing the door behind him shortly after that, the bedroom’s door swung open as Taemin toddled out of the room with a teddy bear in his arms.

“Taemin, what do you want to eat for dinner?” Sungmin asked the little boy that looked around confusingly for his father.

“Appa needs to attend to some issues.” Looking a little disappointed, she bent down and patted Taemin’s head gently.

“Let’s eat out, okay?” He nodded enthusiastically and walked back into his room to change into some outing clothes.

Staring at the little figure, Sungmin could not help but feel worried; she knew that a life like this would not last for long. She would eventually leave this place with Taemin so KyuHyun would not be pulled down by them. But as she watches Taemin having a closer relationship with him day by day, she was afraid that bidding farewell would be upsetting for a young boy like him.

Maybe, before things go out of hand, I should take Taemin away Sungmin thought, as she played with the ring that wrapped itself around her finger.

Sungmin POV

Holding Taemin’s hand tightly in hers, I tilted my head to look down at him, who was skipping joyfully since the moment we left the house.

“Taemin, are you happy now?”

“Yes, because I’m living with Appa and Umma.” I curled my lips as Taemin smiled back at me, a smile that seemed to be so comforting. Maybe, I was wrong; maybe, KyuHyun has already accepted the both of us.

“Umma, can we go to MacDonald’s?”

“Yes, of course.” After a moment of silence, Taemin tilted his head up to look at me,

“Umma, I love you.”

“I love you too, Taemin.”

When I tilted my head away from him to look at where we were going, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the couple in front of us. As I slowed down my pace, Taemin pointed towards the guy’s direction and tugged my hand again.

“Umma.” As the couple shifted their attention to us, I could see, the smile on the guy’s face disappearing gradually. Taking his sunglasses off, it felt as if I could see through what he was thinking. Why are you two over here?

Bracing myself up, I walked towards him.

“Good evening.” I bowed and patted Taemin’s head, asking him to do the same thing I did. The lady stared at us in disdain, as she turned around and looked at KyuHyun.

“Do you know them?”

“He is my Ap-” Cupping my hands anxiously over Taemin’s mouth, I smiled and corrected his sentence.

“He is my cousin.” I replied frantically and pointed towards Taemin,

“And he’s my son.” The lady nodded her head suspiciously when she saw KyuHyun heaving a sigh of relieve.

“He is your nephew?” She asked him, as KyuHyun nodded his head with hesitation. She shifted her gaze to look at me and smirked proudly.

“Having a child at this age? Gullible and ignorant girls like you always get into such trouble.” I clenched my fists and I tried to control myself from retaliating back. For KyuHyun, I must control myself.

“That’s enough, Taemin. We shouldn’t disturb KyuHyun uncle, should we?” I bowed at them and walked away quickly.

How I wish he could hold us back.

But he didn’t; he did not even turn around to look at us when we leave.

As the tears rolled down my cheeks, Taemin wiped them away with his short stumpy fingers.

“Umma, don’t cry.”

I forced a smile and shook my head,

“No, Umma is not crying. Do you want to go to the playground afterwards?”

“Yes!”

Because I didn’t know how I should face KyuHyun anymore.

… … ….

Carrying Taemin back home, it’s already past midnight; I feel so lethargic-it felt as if I had shed a few kilograms after crying. When I opened the front door, I saw KyuHyun, sitting on the couch in the darkness.

“Where have you been?!” KyuHyun yelled at me across the sitting room, as I ignored him and walked towards the bedroom. After putting Taemin on the bed, I closed the door behind me gently.

“Do you want to talk? Let’s talk.” I replied coolly and sat down on the couch beside him.

“I can explain, Sungmin.”

“Explain about what?”

“About me and her…. And you.” I shook my head coolly again and snorted.

“There’s nothing to talk about.” KyuHyun looked a little relieved; only because he didn’t know me well enough. When I say there’s nothing for me to talk about, I actually have loads to say.

Pulling out the ring from my finger, I flung it on the couch.

“I don’t deserve to be the owner of that ring, even for a day.” When KyuHyun tried to grab hold of my hand, I flinched away and stood up. I couldn’t believe how gullible I was; when I felt contented just because he gave me a ring-a wedding ring that does not serve any purpose at all.

“Sungmin…”

“I don’t blame you, actually. I shouldn’t have come here in the first place. This is all a mistake.”

KyuHyun stood up from the couch and crossed his arms in annoyance.

“DO YOU THINK I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN?”

“No, it’s none of your fault.” I bit my lips and heard the room’s door swung open. Taemin walked out of the room while rubbing his eyes.

“Umma, Appa?”

“I didn’t say it’s not my fault, Sungmin.” The fact that KyuHyun ignored Taemin and continued arguing with me frustrates me so much.

“Get back into your room, Taemin.” I ordered Taemin, sternly. Watching from the corner of my eyes as the young boy ran back into the room, I turned around to look at KyuHyun.

“This is what I’m afraid of all this while, KyuHyun.”

“Yes, you should be, Sungmin. And do you know what the mistake the both of us had made was? If we hadn’t met each other in first place, none of this would happen. Taemin would not even be in this picture!”

His words stung so badly; my heart seemed to have shattered into a thousand pieces when he mentioned about Taemin. Flinging my hand across his right cheek, KyuHyun looked at me with shock.

I slapped KyuHyun; finally-after controlling myself from doing so for so long. As tears filled my eyes, KyuHyun walked up to me apologetically.

“I’m sorry, Sungmin. I didn’t mean to say that…I-”

“I don’t care, KyuHyun. And you are right; I shouldn’t have met you. I shouldn’t have ruined my life; I shouldn’t have been so gullible to think that you actually like me. And that lady is right, I’ve been cheated because I’m too stupid and ignorant.”

I screamed back at him and wiped the angry tears away.

Closing the room’s door behind me, I could hear KyuHyun pounding his fist against it.

“Sungmin, listen to me.”

No, I don’t. I have heard enough.
