3rd Person POV
The atmosphere in the building’s lobby was tense, as everyone waited with enthusiasm just to make an entrance to the theatre and watched the premier of the movie-thrice the original price. Everything is worth it, even if they skipped a meal or two; sleep in the cold tiled lobby floor instead of their comfortable beds at home.
… … … …
He slouched in an arm chair in a comfortable room, as his personal stylist sprayed a little hair spray on his hair. Looking through the mirror, he could see his manager carrying a few more bags of gifts towards him, tucking them untidily in a chair beside him.
“Didn’t I tell you not to accept more gifts?” He replied in disdain.
“Well, I tried to, KyuHyun. But you should have seen the commotion outside; they look as if they are trying to kill me!” The manager massaged his arms and started separating the gifts for him. Rampaging through the wrappers, everything was the same-teddy bears, drawings, and a dozen of love letters written to him.
“Pass the letters to me.” KyuHyun reached out his right hand as the manager passed a stack of letters to him.
Reading all of them without much interest, he suddenly spotted a handmade envelope with scotch tape sticking out from the ends. KyuHyun opened the envelope and saw a colored drawing with crayons; those that kinder garden kids would use.
He had never seen someone drew him in this manner before-both eyes were not of equal size, black strips of crayon above that ovary head to represent his hair. KyuHyun slivered a smile subconsciously and flipped it open.
“Hello, I am a big, big, fan of yours. I am only 5 and I am studying in. I do not have the money to see you so I asked Umma to bring me here. I am sad because I cannot see you in person. I am really excited because Umma says she is bringing me to see Appa. I haven’t seen Appa since 5 years ago, because Umma says I am not old enough to see him yet. When I grow up, I want to be just like KyuHyun because you can sing and act well.”
He sniggered a little and tucked the letter back into the envelope, as the PD was chasing him impatiently to go on stage. Just as he left the room, he could see a woman hiding in the corner, watching him a few meters away.
“It must be another obsessive fan,” KyuHyun thought, as he made his way towards the theatre.
… … ….
He could hear his screaming fans in the theatre, as a flock of oppressive reporters rushed up towards him. After bombarding him with a dozen questions, KyuHyun took his sunglasses off and brushed them off by reply curtly,
“No comments.” Turning away swiftly, he reached out his arm gentlemanly towards the elegant actress waiting for him at the entrance, as the both of them made their way into the theatre.
KyuHyun POV
Just a few minutes after I lay my head on the pillow, I was disturbed by the banging of the front door as it became louder and more annoying.
“SHUT UP! STOP BANGING!” I screamed as I crawled out of bed and reached for the black framed spectacles on the side table. Looking at the alarm clock, I realized it was only 4am in the morning.
Which idiot would wake me up at this hour?
Dragging myself towards the front door, I gritted my teeth and prepared myself-to open the door, scream at that person to get lost and slammed the door in his face. Swinging the door open, I took a deep breath and yelled, even though I had not take a close look at the person standing less than half a meter away from me.
“WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? HOW COULD YOU BANG ON SOMEONE’S-” Before I could even react, that person landed a foot into my apartment as I tried to close the door and get back to sleep. It was then when I finally took a close look at the person standing outside.
She was pretty tall, and that pair of eyes were rather charismatic. Wearing a sweatshirt and an old leather jacket, her fringe fell over her eyebrows untidily. But it’s still terribly annoying no matter how good looking she was.
“Miss, you can’t just barge in.”
“Excuse me, are you Cho KyuHyun?”
“Yes, I am. And you are…”
“Just call me Sungmin.” Sungmin, that’s the weirdest girl name I have ever heard of. She shifted her cool gaze away from me and tilted her head down to her left. I followed her gaze and spotted the cutest looking boy I had ever seen. He looked barely 5 as he held on to his mother’s jacket. She pushed his head down gently, and asked him to greet me.
“Good morning, Appa! I am Taemin!”
“Look Taemin, appa…” I hesitated for a moment and looked at him wide eyed.
“APPA?!” I repeated again as Taemin nodded his head and gave me an angelic smile. But no matter how angelic his smile was, this is the worst nightmare ever.
“Look, is this some kind of mistake? I am 25 this year!”
“And I’m 23. I asked him to write in to you. Didn’t you receive that letter?” Sungmin asked me, as she took the opportunity to make her way into my apartment and brought in her luggage.
“You mean the one about that kid looking for his appa?” Taemin nodded his head vigorously as he made himself at home without even asking me for permission. Taking his shoes off, he put them on the shoe rack neatly and ran towards my sofa enthusiastically, as if he had never seen one before.
“Look Umma! The television is huge!”
“We don’t have a television at the place we used to live in.” Sungmin told me but I was interested at all. I switched on the light a slammed the door behind me.
“Stop jumping on my couch, Taemin!” I frowned and watched him sitting down on the couch obediently.
I grabbed Sungmin by her arm and pushed her down on the couch.
“Look, you two. I think you have mistaken. I don’t even know you, miss!” Sungmin crossed her arms calmly and looked at me threateningly into the eyes.
“5 years ago…” 5 years ago…
“At the pub…” At the pub…
“Too much beer, barely sober…” She repeated them one by one to me, as I tried to recall. Memories flashed through my mind as I looked back at her apologetically.
But I still think this is a prank, it must be, right?
“I…I’m sorry.” I didn’t know what else to say. Sungmin shrugged her shoulders coolly and patted the boy’s head gently.
“You don’t have to. It just a moment of folly, but that’s if you pick up the responsibility.”
“How could I pick up the responsibility when I am not sure what is going on, Miss? And what if I don’t?”
Sungmin reached out for a magazine from the table and scanned through the cover page once. She turned it around and started to smirk.
“ ‘Cho KyuHyun hides the mother of his child from the media’ if that’s what you want.”
“Are you threatening me?!”
“If you say so, KyuHyun.” Sungmin replied sweetly as she asked Taemin to get into the guest room.
“We will have a DNA test…tomorrow.”
“Deal.” Sungmin got up from the couch and slivered a smile at me again.
“Goodnight, KyuHyun. See you tomorrow.”
Yes, good night.
And I will wake up and realize everything is just a dream.
Just a dream
Just a dream
Just a dream
Author’s Note: I think this is hilarious. Of course, I can’t claim ALL the rights because I got the idea from ‘Speed Scandal’ even though the story is different. It’s about an idol in his mid-30s, and his DAUGHTER came looking for him with his grandson.
He didn’t like them at first, but after some time, he fell in love with his grandchild and daughter.
Well, lastly, I’m writing this partly because of kyuminss3ternal.
