Title: Of Mages, Priests and Fireflies
Pairing: KRY aka Kyuhyun/Ryeowook/Yesung
Category: Drama. Romance. Some Smut.
Summary: Kyuhyun the mage doesn't expect anything exciting to happen when he arrives at this new land, doesn't want anything exciting to happen if he's quite honest, but when it does he can't help but get dragged into it.

The smell of the sea air hit Kyuhyun like a ton of bricks in the early hours of the morning. The port of Anvil was in sight, and although some people on the ship were excited to be setting foot in this land that was filled with new possibilities, Kyuhyun was not. He didn't like change all too much but he had been informed that there was no better place to learn and develop than here, and Anvil was the place to start. So there he was, leaning on the side of the boat, trying desperately not to be sick as the ship swayed from side to side.

About an hour later, after trying and failing to force down a breakfast on ship, Kyuhyun took his first step into this land all too different from the home he left behind. The port was bustling with market stalls and traders and there were numerous bars and inns advertising space and half price ales and wines. Kyuhyun tried not to get distracted by the many cakes and pies that smelled home made on one stall and made his way to the main part of the town.

It wasn't overly large. The houses were mostly two stories and white washed with sea green doors and stone walls with iron gates that lead to back gardens. Guards with their swords in sheaths and shields resting heavily on their arms were stationed either side of each gate. People were wandering around discussing news and gossiping and all things very uninteresting to Kyuhyun as he passed by the people without a second glance.

“Did you hear about that sailor Kangin?”

“Oh yes, he got robbed by that all female gang of thieves didn't he? What a riot!”

Kyuhyun heard two women say and made a mental note to be wary of women around here. A prophet was ranting outside the local chapel and Kyuhyun scratched the back of his neck in confusion. He couldn't see where that mages headquarters was supposed to be.

“Oh I wouldn't go to the chapel my dear.” Said an older lady as she saw Kyuhyun staring at the place of worship. He raised an eyebrow.

“And why not?” He asked, although he wasn't really that curious. At least, that's what he told himself.

“Been a terrible attack.” She said frowning and shaking her head sadly. “All the priests, killed horribly you see. Terrible thing.” Kyuhyun's eyes widened and he left the old woman at a fast pace towards the chapel doors. He couldn't help it if he wanted to see this with his own eyes. Who would attack and kill a bunch of priests?

The arm of a guard shot out to stop him just as he reached the doors.

“I must warn you,” he said as Kyuhyun stepped back a little to look at him. “It's not for the faint of heart in there.”

“Well...I guessed.” He answered going back to the door as if the guard hadn't said anything.

“Don't touch anything! We've been ordered to leave it as it is.” Kyuhyun rolled his eyes.

“I won't touch a thing I just want to look.” Hesitantly the guard stepped back and nodded allowing him to enter. The guard had been right it wasn't for the faint of heart. Blood splattered the floors and walls and as he walked further in he could see the pews over turned and something written in blood around the dead body of the head priest, but it was in a language he couldn't understand. Another was laying over the overturned pews a nasty looking wound all across one side of his face. “Someone really must have had a thing against this chapel...” he thought quietly to himself. There were the charred remains of another priest and Kyuhyun had to look away quickly for fear of losing what little of his breakfast he had eaten that morning. He noticed the stairs down to the priest's living quarters, and slowly made his way down the steps.

It was eerily quiet but there didn't seem to be much blood down here, maybe they had all been upstairs? He pushed at the door not all too surprised to notice it was falling off its hinges when he did. There was more priests down here, all dead too and Kyuhyun tugged on his top until it covered his mouth and nose as a vain attempt to stop the strong smell of blood. He was about to turn and leave when he heard a choked out sob and then a gasp. Someone was still alive down here?

“Hello?” He called out turning around to once again look through the quarters. “Hello...anyone there?” He called again. Maybe he had been hearing things, but then there was a bang on the door of a nearby cupboard where robes were held, and small voice called out.

“Please help! Let me out! Please let me out!” Kyuhyun slowly walked over, only too aware that this could be some kind of trap. He'd be alright. He wasn't a mage for nothing! He flicked the lock on the door and a boy came tumbling out, knocking Kyuhyun over in the process. When the mage had sat up he realised this boy (or small framed man he realised) was clutching onto his clothes and sobbing rather heavily. Kyuhyun wasn't sure what to do with a crying man, but slowly helped him stand and while covering his eyes lead him out of the chapel.

“Who's that!? He didn't enter with you.” The guard said, hand twitching towards his sword as he saw Kyuhyun leave with the smaller male.

“He was locked in a cupboard in the priest's quarters. Something you and your guardsman failed to notice.” He said coldly and the guard paled slightly.

“Yes, well, there were lots of things to investigate and we didn't hear anything unusual.” Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow wandering how true that was. They probably heard him crying and ran with their metaphorical tails between their legs. Kyuhyun walked away from the guard who continued babbling and sat down with the other by the lake. It was silent. Kyuhyun didn't know what to say or do, and the other man didn't seem to want to say anything either. Too busy crying in fright. Eventually though, he heard his small voice.

“Thank you. I thought I'd never be let out.” Kyuhyun glanced at him, surprised to hear him speak. “I'm Ryeowook by the way.”

“Kyuhyun. What were you doing in that cupboard? You don't look like a priest.” He said poking at his shoulder. Ryeowook let out a weak laugh and shook his head.

“I'm not. My...um, friend, is a priest there. I went to visit him but I was told he had been called urgently to go to a priory near the city.” He sighed heavily and twiddled with the loose strings of his shirt. “Since I was at the Chapel anyway I decided to sit for a bit and listen to the priests, it's usually calming. But then, one of them came running in saying we're being attacked. I was the only civilian there and was taken down and shut in the cupboard and told to keep quiet.” He began chewing on his lip and his facial expression turned horrified. “I could hear them all screaming and shouting and I could hear them dying...it was horrible, and I...I couldn't do anything.” Kyuhyun patted him on the back softly and then jumped back as after a few seconds Ryeowook's head shot up from his hands a look of realisation on his face. “What if they...oh no...I have to go to the city!” He stood up immediately.

“Sorry, what?” Kyuhyun asked standing with him confused.

“I have to go the priory, by the city. What if Yesung was attacked too!” Kyuhyun was now very confused and could only guess that Yesung was his priest friend he mentioned earlier. “Come with me, please?” He suddenly asked.

“What!? But I'm nothing to do with this I'm-” Kyuhyun stuttered. This wasn't his plan when he decided to come to Anvil.

“You're a mage aren't you?” He gawped at Ryeowook for guessing but then the shorter man pointed to his shirt and he realised he had the symbol of the mage stitched into his clothing. “I'm not very strong, please help me.” He sighed heavily. Damn him being too nice for his own good.

“Alright.” Ryeowook beamed and bowed low.

“Thank you, Kyuhyun.”

~

Kyuhyun mourned the loss of his gold, as his newly bought horse was saddled up and readied for the journey towards the city. Ryeowook didn't have a lot of money but had promised to pay Kyuhyun back for his kindness somehow. Kyuhyun climbed onto the horse and Ryeowook climbed on behind him, his small delicate hands clutching at Kyuhyun's clothes giving a jolt that the other blamed on avoiding people 90% of the time.

Yes, Kyuhyun didn't keep much contact with people; he saw little point in it. So it was very unusual that he had agreed to help this stranger find another stranger who may or may not be dead. It felt like it was going to be one of those legends he had read in many books. He'd get caught up in what would seem to be a small task at first but then there'd be some large secret that meant he'd have to go travel around defeating monsters and finding certain things that would help him defeat some evil lord or something at the end. Kyuhyun didn't quite know how he felt about becoming a legend. It would be nice to see statues of himself around. His thoughts were interrupted by a tug on his sleeve.

“Kyuhyun...are we going to leave? Really there is no time to waste.” Ryeowook said desperately.

“Oh right, of course.” Kyuhyun kicked the horse gently and they began their journey towards the priory this Yesung was supposedly at. According to Ryeowook it took four days to travel to the city, three days without rest, but with their horse too they would certainly have to stop.

Kyuhyun happened to be very good at riding and went as fast as the charcoal coloured horse could carry them. The sound of hooves hitting cobbled paths echoed in the mage's ears and his heart thumped loudly in his chest each time he felt Ryeowook press closer and grip his clothes; and each time it did Kyuhyun wandered what he was doing, if perhaps he was going mad. Helping a stranger with no reason at all, he must just be too nice.

As it got dark, and they began slowing down it was suggested finally that they stop to rest. However they had passed the nearest town about an hour ago and now were forced to set up camp in the wilderness.

They followed a nearby river down until they found a suitable place that was hard to find unless you knew where to look and set up the tent Ryeowook had brought and a small camp fire. Sitting down and sharing out a bit of food Ryeowook spoke, for the first time since they left the port city of Anvil.

“Do you think...do you think Yesung is ok?” His voice was quiet and Kyuhyun stayed silent for a few minutes. He didn't want to give Ryeowook false hope by saying that the priest was bound to be fine because honestly he had no idea and no way of knowing.

“I don't know...” he answered honestly. Ryeowook hugged his knees and curled into a small ball. Shit, he was going to cry. “B-but that's not to say he's not ok, it's just...” he rubbed the back of his neck and sighed heavily leaning back so he was laying on the ground, once again wondering to himself what he was doing. He was meant to join the society for mages, get recommendations from all the leaders and go to that high mages academy in the city. Not some quest to find this priest for a man (who looked like a boy) that he didn't even know.

“I'm sorry.” Ryeowook said finally, his breath shaky as if he was holding back the tears they both knew had been dormant since they left the port. “I barely know you and I've dragged you into this. You probably don't even care if Yesung is alive or not, yet here I am worrying to you like you were his best friend.” The mage surprised even himself by saying,

“Tell me about him.” But he said no more and watched as Ryeowook's shocked expression turned into a sincere and beautiful smile, and his eyes glistened and sparkled as he spoke of the priest. And Kyuhyun came to realise as the other was talking that Yesung wasn't just some priest, not just some friend of Ryeowook's. The love he had for the other clearly wasn't brotherly; it went far beyond that to a whole different level that wasn't even thought of.

Kyuhyun pretended he didn't recognise the feeling of jealousy in the pit of his stomach.

~

Early the next morning, Kyuhyun stayed silent as they packed up their camp. They were lucky not to be attacked in the night, he thought, but he didn't say this to Ryeowook. He preferred to stay quiet with his own contemplations as they loaded the tent onto the back of the horse's saddle and then climbed on just as before, with Kyuhyun at the reigns and Ryeowook holding tightly onto him from behind.

Kyuhyun did his best and road faster. He was probably pushing the poor horse to it's very limits, and Ryeowook clutched at him tighter, seemingly scared that at any minute he'd be flung off to the cold hard ground below, but the mage realised, realised last night how much he wanted to help Ryeowook. Last night strengthened it. Although he often didn't show it Kyuhyun believed childishly in happy ever after. He wanted Yesung to be ok, because if this Yesung was ok Ryeowook would be happy, and that bright smile was definitely worth it.

The roads were easy to follow. Most of the paths that would and could lead you astray were over grown after so many years and were plainly obvious as unused by now. All through the day not much was said, except for when they stopped to eat by the river nearby. Kyuhyun again asked for Ryeowook to tell him about this Yesung priest they were trying to find, and he found himself wandering how no one else noticed that Ryeowook was clearly in love with him. Maybe it was a one sided relationship (Yesung was a priest after all) and so the others chose not to say anything. Kyuhyun thought it'd be a waste if that was the case, although he scolded his mind straight after. He couldn't deny that the way Ryeowook described this priest, Kyuhyun wandered if he was the only one after his heart.

Back on the road, words slipped away. The sound of hooves hitting stone and dirt paths were loud over any thoughts or words they might have said. Their goal was still a couple of days ride away, and with each passing moment, Ryeowook seemed to lose a little more hope. Four days was a long time and when someone might be dead, it was a long time of anticipation to find out if that was the case.

However, Kyuhyun couldn't possibly ride faster than he already was without casting some sort of spell on the horse, which he'd rather not do because he couldn't be certain of the effects it might have. Although, as he felt the delicate hands clutch to his robes behind him, he wandered if perhaps the side effects to the horse would be worth the smile on Ryeowook's face upon finding the priest.

~

Their second night was spent at an inn. There had been one just off of the roads path and Kyuhyun could tell Ryeowook was getting antsy. He shuffled on his bed and when it came to food, he barely touched it, as much as Kyuhyun tried to convince him he should eat something. They still had two days left of travelling, two days too long. Kyuhyun sat and drank the hot ale drink they'd been provided, studying Ryeowook's face. Defined cheekbones, and glistening eyes that although currently filled with so much worry were still a beautiful dark brown and Kyuhyun would like to see glisten again.

The mage parted his lips to ask again about Yesung, but then changed his mind. He was worried all this talk about the priest would make Ryeowook more worried. He didn't need that. Instead he grabbed an apple and held it in front of Ryeowook's face. He watched those worried eyes snap out of their trance and stare at the apple as if it'd just spoken to him, then turned slowly to face Kyuhyun who's expression was blank.

“Eat.” Ryeowook opened his lips to say he wasn't hungry, but Kyuhyun just raised an eyebrow in a challenging manner and the small man took it, their fingertips grazing sending a particular burn through their hands. Ryeowook took a bite of the apple and turned away. He thought he only got that kind of sensation with Yesung?

One finished apple and mug of ale later and Ryeowook was lying in bed staring at the ceiling while Kyuhyun studied the pages of an old mages book that seemed to be in a different dialect. Ryeowook couldn't read it anyway. He was so engrossed and the smaller man wondered what he was studying, and how good of a mage he really was. He hadn't seen the other do any magic. He expected there to be bandits or something that he'd need to defend them from, but so far no such thing had happened. Maybe he'd already casted some sort of spell and Ryeowook just didn't know because he wasn't a mage?

“Not sleeping?” Kyuhyun asked, still studying the words in the book, making notes here and there in the book and on other pages.

“I can't sleep.” Ryeowook said quietly, the quietness of the room making his voice seem louder, and more disrupting.

“You really should, we still have two days left before we reach the city.” Ryeowook fell silent and just watched Kyuhyun mouth the words that he couldn't understand. His fingers seemed to twitch at the pages and then his hand speedily jotted something down.

“Can't you use magic?” Ryeowook asked his eyes meeting the mage on the other side of the room who gave him a look of confusion.

“...I am a mage Ryeowook, you noticed that yourself.” He said quite plainly, turning his eyes back to the book. The other laughed weakly and looked down at his hands clutching the covers.

“That's not exactly what I meant. I meant, can't you use magic to make me fall asleep?” His voice was almost pleading. He knew he needed sleep. He wanted to sleep. Because in his dreams Yesung was ok, was by his side and nothing was wrong. The priests weren't dead and he wasn't forced to leave his home to search for the one he loved, every day fearing he might have lost his life.

“Do you want me to use magic on you?” Kyuhyun said still not looking back at him just scribbling away more notes in the pages he held.

“Yes. Please Kyuhyun.” The mage closed his book and stood walking over calmly. He sighed but his face was gentle and understanding. He pushed at Ryeowook's shoulder's making the other lay back comfortably and then placed his hand over his forehead. He opened his mouth and words flowed. Ryeowook couldn't understand them, but they sounded peaceful and pretty. They almost had a melody, were almost a song, and Ryeowook wished he knew the words so he could always remember. He felt warmth spreading from Kyuhyun's palm through his mind like blanket and spreading down his body. His eyes felt heavy and began to close, the words of the spell drifting further and further away until his mind went blank and his breath evened out and sleep over came him.

~

Ryeowook woke up to the sounds of shouting and words that sounded sharp and harsh, and the crackling of flames and the smell of burning wood. He then realised he was on horseback tied to Kyuhyun carefully. Immediately his arms grabbed hold of the other who was riding fast. Faster than he was sure he had so far. Kyuhyun's arm shot behind them and the kind of words that had lulled him into sleep the night before were now making fire and ice and lightning emit from the others hands crashing into something that was no doubt chasing them.

“What's going on!?” Ryeowook asked over all the shouting and sounds of horse's hooves hitting stone and Kyuhyun's words of casting.

“The inn was attacked last night by bandits, no stupid ones either.” Kyuhyun had to all but yell back. “There was a group of us when we left, but...” he didn't need to finish that sentence. The bandits had picked them off.

“How long have they been chasing us!?”

“Long enough!” Suddenly Kyuhyun tugged on the reigns of the horse and they began skidding and jumping through the forest to their right, over rocks and fallen trees.

“Kyuhyun!” Ryeowook exclaimed glancing past his arm realising where they were heading. “If we carry on this way, we'll end up at an almost vertical fall!”

“I know!” the mage called back. “Trust me I know what I'm doing.” The bandits were still following and Ryeowook felt an arrow fly past his cheek, not near enough to him, but near enough to Kyuhyun to leave a cut on his arm. He could hear the bandits laughing and the sound of their horses in hot pursuit of them. Ryeowook just knew the drop was soon. His hands clutched tighter to Kyuhyun's shirt, he squeezed his eyes shut and then there was what felt like a stumble and they began slipping harshly down the near vertical drop. Their horse was struggling and looked as if it was going to go falling head first downwards. More words escaped Kyuhyun's lips and suddenly, everything was smooth, and calm. He opened his eyes and realised they were at the bottom of the drop. Up the top the bandits were cursing and yelling.

“How did you...how did we...” Ryeowook blinked confused but then nuzzled into the back of Kyuhyun's shirt. “You're amazing.” Kyuhyun didn't respond but his smile said it all and they began walking along the edge of the cliff face. The harsh edges turning smooth as the wide fields of Weigh began to make their presence. Something in Ryeowook's head clicked, they'd knocked a great deal of time off their travels. “Kyuhyun we-”

“If we ride tonight, we'll be at the city by morning.” He said simply. Ryeowook grinned. Yesung...he'd see him again soon.

~

By nightfall, Kyuhyun had taken to riding slower, insisting that they'd still get to the city in good time. They had to be on closer watch at night and Kyuhyun seemed to twitch at even the slightest noise.

“You'll see Yesung soon.” Kyuhyun said as they road their way on the path they had once again found. He felt Ryeowook tense against him.

“I've been so caught up in the prospect of seeing him again...I'd completely forgotten that he might be...” he gulped and his voice croaked out the next words. “...that he might be...dead.” Kyuhyun stayed silent.

“You know Ryeowook...you're either really trusting, or really stupid.” Kyuhyun said suddenly. Ryeowook almost choked on his own breath.

“Excuse me!?”

“Well, you ask me, a complete stranger to help you find Yesung, who is obviously more important than you originally lead me to believe.” The smaller man opened his mouth to speak but the mage interrupted him again. “I could have been some murderer who killed a mage and stole his clothes for all you know. I could have been one of the ones who killed the priests in disguise and just wanted you to tell me where the last one was.” There was a long pause where Ryeowook realised Kyuhyun was right. The other could have been a murderer. Could have been just using him to get to Yesung and finish the job. “I still could be.”

“No you couldn't.” Ryeowook said immediately.

“What makes you think I'm not now?” Kyuhyun asked.

“Wouldn't you have killed me already if you were? You've had plenty of opportunities, and I've already told you where Yesung is. If that was really your goal, you would have killed me long ago and set off alone.” Kyuhyun couldn't help but laugh.

“Point made.”

“Besides,” Ryeowook began, yawning and resting his head against Kyuhyun's back closing his eyes. “You're far too nice to be a murderer.” His voice was slightly mumbled and the mage couldn't help but smile. In the back of his mind he knew why he was smiling but he consciously refused to admit it. After all, Ryeowook already had Yesung.

“Hey, Ryeowook?” Kyuhyun began, but as he turned to look over his shoulder, he realised the smaller man's breathing had evened out and he'd fallen into a peaceful sleep against his back. He sighed and shook his head turning his attention back to the road.

~

As the sun rose they had reached the crossroads that lead to the city. It wouldn't even be an hour before they reached their destination. Ryeowook was just beginning to stir, and Kyuhyun had to resist the urge to quickly ride in a different direction and declare them lost. He had to remind himself of why he had been so determined to help Ryeowook find the priest.

“Go straight.” Ryeowook said in a sleepy voice from behind him.

“What?” Kyuhyun asked confused. Weren't they heading for the city?

“The chapel Yesung was sent to is just a little further along this road. It's not actually in the city.” Ryeowook explained. Kyuhyun nodded and began riding straight along the road. He could imagine Ryeowook counting down the minutes in his head until they reached the chapel. He could practically feel his heart beat pounding against his back at the prospect of seeing the man he loved again. Kyuhyun had to swallow down the thick feeling of jealousy.

“I see it! It's there!” Ryeowook said, his delicate hand extending into the mage's line of vision and directing it to a reasonably large stone chapel. There was a chimney with smoke emitting from it, a small stable just off to the side with a few horses and a garden lay with flowers and benches and a well. Kyuhyun could see the beginnings of a cemetery just behind the building itself. Although the chapel was dark, it seemed warm and inviting like how a chapel should be.

He rode slightly faster, and before he could even really think they had arrived. Ryeowook bounded off the horse, stumbling on his feet as he did so, staring at the wooden door with apprehension. Kyuhyun lead the horse to the stable and then joined Ryeowook at the doors. He said no words, but pushed gently at his back. Ryeowook reached behind him and grabbed the mage's hand tightly as he pushed open the wooden doors. A priest was praying at the altar, and another elderly priest walked out of a door off to the side, smiled and came to great them.

“Yes my children,” the elderly man. “How can I and the lord serve you today?”

“I-I'm looking for p-priest Yesung.” Ryeowook stuttered his hand clutching at Kyuhyun's tighter. He squeezed back and ran his thumb over the back of his hand. The elderly priest looked at Ryeowook and then glanced at the mage whose face was currently expressionless.

“Yes of course. Priest Yesung arrived only the other day, but became ill quite suddenly.” The priest began leading them towards the door he'd just came from. “Priest Siwon is caring for him in the living quarters. I think he's expecting you.” The priest smiled kindly at Ryeowook but gave Kyuhyun an almost disapproving stare. Kyuhyun held his head high and followed the smaller man into the room. It was large, and beds were lined neatly against opposing walls. In the last bed, on the far side of the right wall, lay a man who coughed roughly, eyes shut tight as he did, before he relaxed once again. On the table beside him sat a glass of water, and a small turtle. A tall young man in priest robes turned from his task of making medicine and looked at Ryeowook and Kyuhyun with a surprised expression. Although Ryeowook didn't seem to notice at all. His hand slipped from the mage's, and with the name of the priest on his lips he ran over to Yesung's side and gripped his hand. Kyuhyun watched his eyes open and fall on Ryeowook, and his face turn into a grin. Ryeowook was smiling brightly, he knew even though he couldn't see his face. They began talking in quiet voices and he took that as his turn to leave. He tore his eyes away and saw the priest Siwon staring at him with a quiet look of understanding, and then he left.

~

“Love is sometimes a terribly painful thing.” Kyuhyun jumped slightly at the sound of the voice and turned as he saw Siwon standing behind him. He sighed and stared straight ahead.

“I wouldn't know.” Kyuhyun replied, not looking as he felt the priest sit beside him and hum in a disbelieving way.

“I think all three of you do.” Siwon said simply. “I know of Ryeowook and Yesung's relationship, and I know you do too. I also know that no one else can. A priest, falling in love with a man? It's frowned upon mostly.” Kyuhyun stayed silent, staring at the sky that was getting brighter as early morning turned into midday. “And then a mage, falling for a man in the same relationship, that's pretty impossible.”

“Just say what you want to say priest Siwon. Will you condemn me for it? Tell me you know of some secret potion or prayer that will cure me? I think not.” The mage muttered bitterly.

“I was going to say no such thing.” Siwon said with a voice that screamed offended. “I was merely going to suggest, that with something so unheard of, anything can happen. But you won't know unless you confront young mister Ryeowook.” Kyuhyun looked at him with a raised eyebrow but Siwon just smirked knowingly, and instead of saying his original thoughts he said:

“You know, for a priest, you're really smug.”

~

Lips and hands crawling all over Ryeowook's naked delicate frame, that's the image that was in Kyuhyun's head as he shot up in the bed he had been leant for the night. In the one across from him Ryeowook was awake, reading a book on medicine it looked like. Slowly he slipped out of bed and approached the other man with a half asleep determination (or madness) and sat at the edge of Ryeowook's. The small man looked up at him with wide confused eyes but before he could open his mouth to question the mage, his lips were covered and his surprise was evident in his stillness. But as Kyuhyun gently splayed a hand against his side, his eyes closed and his arms reached up to touch the other, hesitantly and then boldly as Kyuhyun's lips moved and his tongued tested the waters and he accepted. Ryeowook felt like he did that night Kyuhyun put a spell on him to make him fall asleep and wandered if this was all some dream the mage had planted or if he was using a spell to make this all seem so right or-

His thoughts stopped when a cold hand slipped up his ragged shirt and stroked the soft skin underneath. He gasped and arched into the touch, and then a bang of his book hitting the floor jolted him out of his Kyuhyun filled daze and he pulled away.

“Come with me.” The mage said nonchalantly, as if he hadn't just kissed the other in the middle of the night. He tugged on Ryeowook's slightly cold hand when the other didn't respond.

“Kyuhyun...I shouldn't,” Ryeowook's gaze shot over to the bed where Yesung was quietly sleeping. The illness slowly easing away with each passing minute.

The young mage's lips twitched into an amused smirk and he shrugged one shoulder casually, as if to say 'so what?' but he wasn't saying 'so what?' He was saying something entirely different and even more out of the ordinary than this whole thing already was.

“So bring him along.” He finally said, and Ryeowook looked at him like he was mad, and Kyuhyun himself thought being mad probably wasn't far from the truth.

“Excuse me?” Ryeowook almost hissed as he tried to be nearly silent. “Bring him along? What exactly are you planning?” Kyuhyun tilted his head and his eyes travelled down Ryeowook's neck, across his chest that was covered by the thin loose cloth and to where his hip bone was slightly exposed from where he'd pushed at it earlier. Ryeowook flushed at the attention from the mage's eyes, and then said mage smirked again and answered:

“Just...stuff.”

“And you think this stuff will work with three people?” Kyuhyun's eyes shot up to Ryeowook's gaze the sincerity there before words were even spoken.

“I think, considering the circumstances, this stuff won't work unless there's you, me and Yesung.”

~

For a priest, who was sick and woken in the dead of night, Yesung didn't need much convincing that Kyuhyun was right on the matter. Ryeowook was surprised when the other didn't even ask what they were doing. He just shrugged and nodded saying that he saw it coming as soon as he noticed them walk through the door.

It seemed Ryeowook was the only one who had no set in stone idea of what the three of them were going to be doing, but Kyuhyun and Yesung seemed to know as soon as they looked at each other. A silent understanding so strong that the smallest man wandered if Kyuhyun had used some sort of magic once again on the attractive priest.

Yesung seemed to be suggesting something, something that Ryeowook couldn't hear, and then Kyuhyun was nodding in agreement and Yesung was leading them off to the left of where they had originally been walking. Past the stables through some trees, following a stream and there was a clearing. Nothing special about it apart from the moonlight hitting the area directly, but even then it almost illuminated the plainness of the clearing. The grass wasn't particularly luscious, there were no flowers, and the stream made part of the area very muddy. When Ryeowook realised this was where they had wanted to come to he raised an eyebrow at the pair who seemed rather suspicious as they stood together in the centre of the clearing.

“We have a surprise for you Wookie.” Yesung said, in his kind deep voice with a gentle smile. Ryeowook grew even more confused and watched as Kyuhyun knelt in the ground and with an old stick started drawing in the dirt. This was all very odd. And then the mage was saying those words that were definitely a spell and tiny lights seemed to lift from everywhere and suddenly the grass was thicker and greener, and the ground was dry but soft, and the stream was clean and the area around it was dry and more like a tiny river. Ryeowook walked closer to the other two and Kyuhyun said some more words and clapped his hands together softly and the lights started hovering around them, and Ryeowook realised suddenly that the lights were in fact thousands of tiny fireflies.

He almost completely forgot about the other two men until he felt one pair of lips on his cheek and then another on his neck and he realised that these two phenomenal men had somehow gotten together and worked together for him. Although the thoughts suddenly slipped his mind when Yesung was tugging at his shirt and kissing down his chest and Kyuhyun was pulling at his pants and then slowly laying him down in the grass, making fireflies scatter slightly only to land gently on his body as if he was part of nature itself. Yesung's hands were soft and gentle as they traced his hip and down his now bare leg, the fireflies fluttering away moments before his touch could reach them. Kyuhyun's hands were rough from years of potion making and magic training, and they were much firmer and sure than Yesung's.

Distracted by the fleeting touches and firefly kisses as they fluttered away from the movements only to settle again, he was shocked when he felt two fingers enter him, one from each male above him. Yesung was kissing him romantically as he always had, tongue slipping past those pliant lips, while Kyuhyun's determined kisses were moving in precise lines around his straining arousal. Then one finger curved ever so slightly - he wasn't sure whose - and he cried out arching his back making the fireflies around him flutter, startled and only settled back down when he relaxed. Kyuhyun and Yesung smirked at each other and they removed their fingers hearing the pretty little whine from Ryeowook's mouth.

Yesung shifted around until he was positioned quite comfortably in front of the small man's entrance and pushed in causing a silent scream of pain that Kyuhyun soothed quickly with a hand on his hip and words of foreign tongue that eased the pain quickly. And then Yesung was thrusting into him and Kyuhyun was teasing his penis with his tongue, and Ryeowook was writhing and moaning and gripping at the grass beneath them and watching the fireflies flutter and land on the two naked men (he still wasn't quite sure when that had happened) and then Yesung lifted his legs and shifted a bit and he cried out his eyes seeing those bright fireflies even though they were closed. The thrusts became quicker and then there was a warmth as Yesung came. He pulled out and Ryeowook whined, he felt needy and he didn't quite care and then he was filled again with something that felt quite different but just as good and he realised belatedly as the thrusts began that it was Kyuhyun.

Yesung's hand brushed across his forehead ridding him of the sweat that had gathered. Kyuhyun's thrusts got faster and Ryeowook desperately wanted to open his eyes and look at him, to watch but it seemed as though every time he tried Kyuhyun angled his thrust particularly well and he could only arch back and moan to the heavens.

Yesung's hand wrapped around him and stroked him in time with Kyuhyun's thrusts and as the mage grew more frantic, Ryeowook found himself moaning loudly at the same time and they came in sync.

He opened his eyelids that suddenly felt very heavy and looked at the mage and the priest panting and smiling at him and fell asleep.

He didn't hear the thank you Yesung whispered to him, for coming all this way to make sure he was safe, and he didn't quite feel Kyuhyun cover him up and carry him back to the chapel as if nothing had happened.

When Ryeowook would wake up, he'd wonder how the whole thing happened. But Ryeowook didn't hear Kyuhyun's chat with Siwon so he didn't hear this:

“You know, for a priest, you're really smug.” Siwon laughed at the mages comment, before silence temporarily fell upon them. Siwon was the one to break it by saying:

“You know...alternatively you could speak to Yesung.” Kyuhyun turned to him and raised an eyebrow as if saying he was mad. “Well, you know the three of you are hardly conventional.” The smirk the priest had said it all and Kyuhyun was tempted to say that he wasn't exactly a conventional priest himself.

Ryeowook also didn't see Kyuhyun talking to Yesung while he went to fetch the priest more food.

He also didn't notice Yesung was awake before Kyuhyun woke up. And didn't notice the knowing look they shared before Kyuhyun kissed him.

He didn't notice any of it, but he didn't particularly care anymore.
