„Ouch“ Teukie bit down on his lip and watched the red liquid dwelling from the cut on his fingertip. Kangin immediately rushed over from the other side of the room with a worried look on his face. “What happened? You hurt?”
Teukie smiled at him, being happy to have a friend who cared about him so dearly. “It’s nothing. Only a small cut.” he tried to convince Kangin, who still looked utterly worried for no real reason. “It’s not nothing!” the taller one complained. “It’s bleeding.” And with a pouting sigh he added a “Stupid”. Eeteuk laughed slightly and nudged Kangin’s shoulder. “Oh come on.. you’re exaggerating. It’s just a little bleeding. I’m a guy. I can take it.”
But Kangin listened neither to Teukie’s words nor to his high pitched laughter that followed, but instead took his friend’s finger and carefully sucked a little on it , trying to remove the blood in an attempt to see how deep the cut really was.
The smaller one suddenly turned quiet and stared at his friends face, noticing how long and beautiful his eyelashes were and how warm and soft his lips felt against his skin. His cheeks took on a rosy color as the thought about how sweet they might look in other’s eyes crossed his mind.
“Follow me.” Kangin said and tore Eeteuk from his thoughts as he took his hand, carefully as to not hurt the already injured finger, and dragged him with him into the living room. After he had pushed Teukie carefully to sit on the couch he disappeared for a few seconds only to return with some unction and a package of plasters. “I told you to let me handle the desk… your skin is so delicate. You know how easily you get cuts, right?” he sighed as he inspected the finger again, licking off the blood once more before putting on the unction carefully. “Just let me handle the cleaning… you know I freak out when I see you bleeding.” Teukie smiled again, patting Kangin’s hair.
“Thanks, Kanginnie.”
He could’ve said more. Could have said how happy he was to have a friend like him, how much he appreciated him being around or how he felt like his life would be all gloomy and boring without his sparkling smile around. He could have said so much more. But he knew it wasn’t needed.
Even without spelling it out loud he was sure Kangin understood all of it.
“No problem.” Kangin answered smilingly.
And Eeteuk returned the smile brightly, having understood all that Kangin had said along those words.
