Thank you so much! It was quite hard writing this, as I didn't want them to get too sentimental. They're men, after all, and men don't enjoy talking too much about their feelings.
Concerning the part about another lover - that's the typical, heated insult when you get in a fight with your ex, nothing of too much significance. But now they're together again, and this is all that counts.

Romance is a big problem when writing slash. Most slash writers are girls, and girls have - influenced by fairy tales, Hollywood movies and novels - a certain image of the ideal romance, which they of course want the players to have. This leads to fanfics players sound like the hero of a 19th century novel in, which simply doesn't fit. I can't imagine Stevie reciting love poems for Xabi.
According to some male friends of mine, men are really, really shy when it comes to showing their true feelings in a critical situation. They prefer to lay hints, to wait for the respective other to be active. And they prefer the physical approach to the talking ;)
