Japan has wonderful nature, doesn't it... I love the forest in early morning- and yes, it really does look like that. I'm addicted to it. BTW, is the last picture taken near Kamigamo Jinja? That's a bit what it looks like...
Hm, that's why I borrowed the book the scans are from (History of Japanese Art Photography). The landscapes are just stunning, and the unusual development techniques (gum-bicromate instead of silver-gelatine) make them even more beautiful.
The last one was taken on a Pontocho veranda in the 1930's. Pontocho is somewhat south of Kamigamo Jinja, isn't it? (maps confuse me)
