Sweetie, accept the fact that you are very bright. That spells "adaptability" to those that realize that there are so many that can't think their way out of a box, regardless of degree or experience. Anyway! That's weird but GREAT! *does happy dance* How hard can it be? I never got any real vocal coaching or music theory from my elementary school music teacher. She'd show up with her record player on her cart, hand out lyric sheets, play the record of the song a little so we could hear the melody and then start the record again so we could sing along. The way she taught choir? She'd sing the part and we'd mimic it. That was it and she taught this way for decades!!! Girly, you can do this!!! :))
Hee. I know someone in music in White Settlement. I think she's working at one of the primaries. I can hook you up.
Also, Music Ed is my first degree. Taught it for 7 years. The first thing you need to now is if you have to take the 6th graders to UIL (doesn't sound like it, since they sound like they're in an upper elementary campus rather than middle school. This is a good thing)
I have resources for you, babe. I have all my old stuff in my fourth grade classroom. I can at least give you copies of some good pieces, and show you how the music books are laid out. There was a new adoption this year, so you might have new ones to look at.
You sound like Bud. He took that Chemistry job, but he's still applying for Assistant Principal positions.
