2 Scone Recipes

I have 2 scone recipes to share with you, as promised. ;-) The first one is a nice dry one that I use as a basic recipe. Just replace the raisins with your favourite flavours (chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, berries, etc). You could even do a savoury version, just omit the sugar. That looks so yummy!!! I've actually never had a scone before, what do they compare to? Are they moist and sweet like pastry cakes, etc?

They are sweet and a bit dry and about the size of a muffin. They're good for breakfast or afternoon tea. They're almost like the same texture as a biscuit you'd serve at dinner. You could make savory scones too, for example cheese scones: just use the first recipe and omit the sugar & raisins, and add some cheddar.
