I had this happen to me once, in a spot where I could SEE the guard, distantly (union station TTC).
We needed to get down, which allowed us the opportuinty for this little prank. I went around the corner, took B and MC out of the (double) stroller, then heaved the stroller down the stairs. It made quite a noise and then, much to my satisfaction, tipped on its side at the bottom.
When I caught sight of the guard, he'd gone white as a sheet. As I walked by, I informed him that it was dangerous to expect someone to single-handedly manage a stroller full of baby on a flight of stairs and he ought to be ashamed of himself.
I noted that I was never refused that lift again, and further, there is now a sign on it that says "for handicapped/stroller use only"
That's ridiculous. Someone should register with their administrators that they endangering mothers and babies with that policy. Are they waiting for someone to get injured before they consider any changes?
I doubt it has anything to do with their policy. I was ready to file a complaint with the building management, but I couldn't quite figure out who owned that part of the building. Some day when I have more time I may want to go back stir up some trouble.
