How does a pimp count?

From the archives, when I was (more of) an OCD freak and taped every morning radio show to maintain my exhaustive song parody collection:

"How does a pimp count? Ho, ho, ho! Which reminds me - merry Christmas, from Mancow's moooorning madhouse! On Rock 103.5, Chicago ( Read more... )

Well, I guess it all makes sense now. The IEEE headquarters at 445 Hoes Lane in Piscataway, NJ is probably some historical site of a giant toolshed rather than a whorehouse.

Also, remember when my default LJ pic was Imus? You didn't recognize the picture (which is now seen everywhere, that one of him in the denim shirt, no 10 gallon hat), and wanted to know why I was "pimpin' some guy." Well, I was a fan of his show, back in the day when I used to be up at 5:30 in the morning or so (high school) to listen to his (usually) hilarious and often simultaneously serious political commentary.

Years ago Imus made a comment on his show, in his trade mark intonation, "those are some fugly girls." Not like this was reported anywhere or anything, just heard it live on the air. Don't remember who it was about either, but maybe he should have just said that instead.

Yeah, he really should have. I'm sure he's said that to himself a thousand times already this week... For anyone, especially a known 'shock jock', to lose a 30-year radio career over these two words is a complete overreaction, IMO, when you can turn the dial and hear a rap song that's an order of magnitude more degrading both to races and genders ( ... )

Ah, OK. Like I said, I don't listen to the show - was just going on information presented by the recent news articles, which made it sound like all this stuff was happening in a vacuum. If his show performance has been getting sucky but just not sucky enough to be grounds for termination, it makes a lot more sense.
