Fuck Facebook

Naively, on January 1, 2010 I made a New Year's resolution to conquer my facebook.

That was the stupidest idea I have ever had. Like no, seriously.

Facebook, I realized only recently in one of those major psychosis inducing epiphanies, is like having an audience. Right there. Watching you. All the time. ALL. THE. FUCKING. TIME.

Logically, I knew and ( Read more... )

Huh, fancy meeting you here... May I take this opportunity to apologise for not commenting on your recent posts about the accident? I read them, and I wanted to say something, but they broke my heart, and nothing I wanted to say felt good enough. You were an amazing person in helping that woman in such difficult circumstances, and I'm horrified that she had to lose another kid and that a young life should be cut so stupidly :( I also hope you don't suffer long-term trauma, and that your art keeps on winning! You're a wonderful person from what I can see through your posts. *hugs*

I deactivated my Facebook account a few months ago because I wasn't using it anyway and because just thinking about it was stressing me like crazy. I can't stand the social pressure, just like you describe. I love the internet because it's not like real life, so something that emulates RL is really not what I need!

I'm sorry, I was just really surprised at this comment!! I don't know what I did to inspire love, but thank you very much. Certainly feels nice to hear things like that. ^_^

Wwo, now I don't like facebook either. Not with all the security leaks of late, sadly for me it's the only way to stay in touch with a few ratehr reclusive folks from all over the world.

But if I could get rid of it... I would in a heartbeat. I hear you on the stalking thing! Thus I have all those kind of options turned off on my profile because otherwise I would be overwhelmed with 'news' which are none in truth. :(

The thing with your cousins now that is the best example what platforms like facebook can cause.... misunderstandings and such. I'm sorry that that happened to you.
