Problem/Question: This is driving me nuts. When I enable the footer he adds a white background behind the entries. While I disable it I have a nice blank space between the entries. Why is my footer doing this?

Your #footer-menu stretches all over the content for some reason. If you just want to get rid of white gaps, you can add:

#footer-menu {background: transparent;}
