Big 5 Sporting Goods did the same thing to me. I was ALWAYS on time. I did EVERYTHING they asked of me. In my 2+ years working there, I was pretty much the most reliable worker they had. And when I put in my two weeks, they stopped scheduling me altogether. They didn't offer an excuse or anything, they were just dicks.

granted, I wasn't the most reliable worker. I strongly disliked my job, the hours seriously screwed up my body clock, and I never did anything different, and my training was basically a few videos and 'do it and you'll find out' which doesn't work at all with their cashiering position.
Well, I learned firsthand why no one likes retail.
