Title: A Woman Scorned
Fandom: Lost (but with mentions of characters from my verse created with
vylentcrymz)
Characters: Claire, implied Charlie/Claire, Boone
Rating: PG
Notes: A future fic that is slightly AU (Boone's alive and is now working as an artist) Oh, and doing a second part, just wanted to get this chunk out of my head. Also, I need a C/C icon. This must be fixed. *searches*
Claire looked at the piece of paper in disbelief as Boone and Charlie went to work in the garage.
Mandy’s car was on the fritz again, which was usually the case, and even though she had been doing pretty well for herself lately, she refused to buy a new one. Too many memories, apparently.
Boone had handed Claire an invitation to his latest opening, as promised. What he didn’t promise, was that there would be a cameo from of one of the few people on this planet that she couldn’t stand.
She supposed it was only a matter of time. The island had ended up showing her that old ghosts always come back to haunt us. She knew he was bound to worm his way into her life again somehow, but she had no idea how, or when, or that he would manage to do it.
It seemed he had found a way, because the gallery was not only showing Boone’s work, but a Thomas Kenning’s as well.
The same Thomas that she had fell in love with when she was eighteen, the same Thomas who left her before she got on that flight to Los Angeles.
She sighed and sunk down into a chair at the kitchen table, unsure of what to do next. Should she even bother going? Boone had looked so excited when he had handed her the invite, those blue eyes of his twinkling like he was a little boy who had gotten a new puppy or something. Boone was her friend, he had done a lot for her, and for Charlie.
Charlie would definitely want to go but, what would happen if he saw Thomas? She had told him all about him, and he’d offered to, as he put it, “Punch his bloody lights out”.
Should she really risk it? After all, Aaron would want to go to the opening to see Samantha. She wouldn’t want him to meet the bastard who deserted him. But, did that really give Aaron a choice?
Claire made herself a cup of tea, but left it untouched. She would go see him, but she wouldn’t tell Charlie and Aaron who he was, it was for their own good. She just hoped that Aaron would forgive her for taking away his own chance to meet his father.
It was time for her to get her own revenge for once.
