I really like this. Wonderful combination of friendship and bittersweetness. Not to mention humor. ;)

Hey there!

Thank you so much! Those elements are exactly what I was hoping to convey :)

I enjoyed this very much and I can so picture the scene in which the lolliopop winds up in her hair in the first place.

I'm so glad you liked it! And I think that scene would have been far more humorous, I had half a mind to write it in :)

Thank you!

Heh, only Kara would think of lopping her hair off as a creative process. Oh child, what on earth are we going to do to you?

This was equal parts sad and cathartic. We all know how big a fan Kara is of grand gestures, I think it was subtly sweet/tragic that she grew her hair out for someone who would never live to see it. I'm glad Helo was there to witness it, as he should be. But MAN, could he have not talked her in to letting him have a go? Anything would have been better than the hot mess of miniseries hair. Goodness gracious. It makes me cringe just thinking of it.

I guess I actually get the impression from the paintings and poetry she had sprawling across her walls that Kara thought that messy impulsive endeavors to express herself were "creative processes" :)

That's actually a really good idea, I probably should have just let Helo take the reins. Though I suppose it's possible he tried to fix it after this fic ended. He probably needed to. You know what's really crazy though? I never noticed how bad her mini haircut is until I joined LJ BSG fandom a few months ago. Trufax. I was so in love with Kara Thrace from the get go that it didn't even faze me and then I started reading everyone's reactions to it all these years later and was like 'Heh, that IS really awful." They say love is blind....

LOL. Ha. Yeah, well she'd have done well in the post-modernist movement. Could have recorded herself lopping off the hair, crazy-glued it to the scissors and stuck it in a fake heart and called it 'art'. :lovesoncrazystarbuck:

"They say love is blind..." yeah and deaf, dumb, and stupid. Meh, it's Kara, she can do whatever and no one would think twice. Man, I wish I had that kind of leverage in my life ;)

Hey friend!
