With the release of the "An Inconvenient Truth" movie, the Net and media, in general, is rife with global warming debates. Looking about all the postings and commentaries, I found a seriously disturbing pattern that I never quite realized was there before ( Read more... )

we shouldnt be at all surprised that the entire issue is being sidetracked into a political debate. hundreds, thousands, even millions of lives has not proved too sacred, so why not billions?
the real deal here is how the right can argue a case for potential total annihilation when at the same time, they'll argue that any risk of potential security threats need be dealt with. u know, like the 1% chance that either iraq or iran might've or might launch a nuclear missile into the US.

As bullheaded as some of the decisions that have come out of the political right has been in recent years, what the global warming issue desperately needs is a clear separation from politics ( ... )

its not just global warming that needs clear separation from politics. but its not going to happen. anything and everything will be used in a battle for power ( ... )

Incentives have to shift from fuel subsidy to subsidies on manufacturing of energy-saving products and alternative energy sources. For instance, energy saving lights are already available but are more expensive mainly due to economies of scale or technological barriers. Same applies to hybrid cars which are not really more expensive to manufacture ( ... )
