Yeah, I finally found Toon Factory's [Innocent] mini album, SCREW's [Cursed Hurricane] single and DOG in the PWO's [WONDERxWONDER] single. I haven't found type C of [Cursed Hurricane] though.
By the way, I decided to restrain myself from downloading vistlip's [Strawberry Butterfly] and wait for my CDs instead.
So! The new songs. First, [INNOCENT] by Toon Factory (recommended by Miyagi Yuu-kun):
#1. a=Fake+√1414_25&word-
"WTH" was my first thought when I read the title. But then, this is an instrumental intro song. You can give any title to an instrumental song (even the absurd one) since it has got no lyric. Anyway. This opening track sounds catchy, I kinda like it. But I swear I think I heard a goat bleating. LOL. However, I can imagine this track being played as an intro for their LIVE--aside from it is being used or not, I bet it would sound cool. :)
#2. Innocent
I like this song. :) It has a cool feeling in it, yet it makes your body moves. Actually this kind of song is quite common, but this is a song that brings you a youthful feeling. It sounds slightly heavy but fun at the same time. The sound of Rega's bass is noticeable and smooth too; I always like a song with thick bass sound. Nice one! ^__^
#3. Devil's Invitation
I wrote about this song a couple times here in my LJ--yes, because (obviously) I like this song. ^_^ This is the first track from this mini album that I listened to; and it gave a quite cool impression. First, I noticed that Hikaru's voice here is kinda different (in a good way). It has a veeeery slightly husky tone--but it still sounds cuteish (this husky tone--in Indonesian is called 'serak-serak becek basah'). I like this kind of tone! Way to go, Hikaru! :) Secondly, well--the whole composition of the song is just nice and cool.
#4. Sarcastic Story
The intro has a rather 'heavy' feeling (you might want to headbang over it), but the song composition itself actually sounds cuteish--or popish--or I may say very 'oshare-kei-like'. Especially the chorus. It makes this track sounds 'lighter' than 2 previous tracks. And this one has a noticeable solo guitar (I dunno if it's Shizuku or Yuno?).
#5. Kimi O Sagashite
Now this is another popish track. Altough this is the least favorite song of mine (because IMO, some parts of this song sound weird and I didn't get it), but the intro is nice. I dunno why, but Hikaru's voice kinda lacks of balance here; it sounds 'weak'. (. .a)
#6. Re:write
I think this song is meant to be a closing-sweet track. It sounds ordinary, but I can catch a sweet feeling from the chorus. Well, this is a definitely easy listening song. A similar type of song with the previous song, but Hikaru's voice sounds better in this track. :) There's one part where Hikaru does the rap, it's kinda surprising, haha. Hikaru's voice sounds manly when he raps. ;) A quite nice closing track, I think.
And then... move to [WONDERxWONDER] by DOG in the Parallel World Orchestra!
#1. DDT
This intro (instrumental) song is really cute. xD Because the main voice in this song is actually dogs barking. xDDD I can only say that this song suits the band's name so much! And since I like dogs, listening to this dog-barking song is kinda... fun! Not only that, the beat is also nice and danceable. :)
#2. WONDERxWONDER
The title song. It is an oshare-like type of song; or should I say a very DOG in the PWO song? Yeah, it has a cheerful tone that makes you wanna jump around with your dog (if you have one, LOL). This is a very fun and catchy song, I like it. :) Although, if talking about DOG in the PWO songs, my favorite remains the same: [Halcyon Candy]. One thing that I notice, Haru's voice is actually not really oshare-ish. Well, I dunno. But it suits DOG in the PWO songs. :)
#3. Zecchou High Speaker
Another catchy song, with fast beat that makes your body moves. With total three songs with similar tone, this single doesn't give you a chance to enjoy a ballad song (like their previous slow song [Hot Lemonade], which sounds great too!). Well, this song has a rather same 'color' with the title song, but I think it sounds a bit more western? That's why [WONDERxWONDER] is chosen as the title song, I think, because it has a more oshare feeling in it than this track.
Haiii. Next, [Cursed Hurricane] by SCREW. SCREW's first single after Yuu-kun left and replaced by (ex.Jewel) Rui. So this is the first chance to hear Rui's bass playing.
#1. Cursed Hurricane
First time I saw their new outfit (yeah those white stuffs), I already got the feeling that this song isn't gonna be as heavy as their previous songs (like [Raging Blood], for example). This song is a more ordinary-like rock, however, I still feel the 'SCREW feeling' from Kazuki's guitar (and Byou's vocal of course). :) About Rui's bass playing--well, not that I understand music so deeply to be able to easily distinguish the difference of Yuu-kun and Rui's skills (LOL)... hmm, basically, of course because Rui is well-experienced, he's good. *lame comment* xD Because this song isn't heavy, I could actually follow the bass sound clearly. That way, I can enjoy Rui's bass playing and quite like it. :) Anyway, this song is not an 'oh-wow-so-good' song, but the more I listen to it, I think it has grown on me. ^^
#2. Sayo Nakidori / Sayo Yoru Tori (still dunno which one is correct)
This one is a slower song. Dunno, but it gives a slightly melancholic feeling. x_X I'm not trying to be emo here, but somehow, listening to this song makes me scream (inside my mind), "YUUTOOOO~~!!!" (LOL and yet I still said I'm not trying to be emo). It gives me a similar feeling of [Genei No Kusari], because [GnK] was the last title song Yuu-kun played together with SCREW... *facepalm* (OK I think I'm indeed becoming emo now!!)
Let's stop this emo scene now!! *cough*
So, this track is basically a quite nice balance for the title song. I didn't like this song when I heard the preview for the first time, but now that I already listened to the whole song, it's not that bad.
#3. Dainsleif
Oh hey--this is much better! When I said 'much better', I mean this song sounds more like SCREW; with a harder composition and Byou's rough vocals! This is the type of SCREW song I prefer. Just like [Raging Blood]. :) Oh, and we can hear Rui's bass tapping here. :3 This track is kinda short, but I like it! Sometimes short track gives you deeper impression. :)
#4. [Jellyfish]
This is an aggresive or somehow violent tune. Byou's vocal sounds a bit different him. I honestly think the chorus goes a bit weird and doesn't really fit the whole composition. ^^; Although this is also a heavy tune, but compared to [Dainsleif], I somehow can't take this song seriously. Er, sorry for saying that though.
::Comment on [Cursed Hurricane] PV::
This is the first PV of SCREW with the new formation, and honestly it's the first time for me to actually see Rui in a music video. He fits well with the other members (and he looks cuter in video than photo, hehe). I kinda like his style, move and attitude. I mean--I've seen his previous style when he was still with the band Jewel--he was a cross-dresser, so I used to imagine him acting a bit feminine, LOL. But in this PV, he acts totally manly. :)
As for the other members, I don't have many comments, they all act like their-selves. I can see that Byou is still fond of making those weird expressions when he sings. xD I'm not saying it's bad, but I giggle everytime he makes those expressions. x3
The concept of the PV is quite standard. The atmosphere is kinda new (maybe because the white outfits). I actually like the--what do you call it--black flag-like cloth with the band name + hand-prints printed on it. The fact that there's a "SCREW flag" in this PV is actually like some sort of declaration of a "new beginning" for them. So it feels rather cool and touching... *restraining herself for being emo again*
