1. Well it's gotta be black at least (easy to match anything) and stylish & practical. 2. Must have one outside pocket for phone/car keys. Just zip and take out, no fancy stuff. - 2 compartments to store more stuff (like for work) - Zipper to close the bag, latch optional. 3. Space.
1. I tend to find sling bags first cause i don't really feel comfy with bags with shorter straps
2. lots of compartments!! and also bag space, without looking so much like a luggage bag (kinda much to ask for a bag lol). reason is cause i use the bag to college daily and a lot of my essentials and stationary are stored in it
3. design. some bags are really nice, big and all, but lacks in proper designs (as in, not looking like bags but luggage bags and so on :P)
What i meant by design is, similar to space issue. You know sometimes how the bag design is really nice, and looks spacious at first glance, only to find out it's really cramped out inside? That's the one :P And also if it is spacious, it tends to look like an oversized bag, or a luggage bag lookalike haha

Lol, lately i've been breaking my back carrying things from place to place and wished I had better bags, so...
Laptop bags - NEEDS SPACE TO PUT OTHER THINGS. I don't travel with just a laptop a lot of the time, and I'll want to put perhaps a few files, books, cards and things inside. ALSO: SPACE FOR A CHARGER, PLEASE. Most laptop bags only have space for a laptop and a few small folders, and when traveling with the charger it makes a lopsided looking bump in the side. I'd actually like a nice-looking but comfortable backpack that has a laptop compartment... mainly because i don't like weighing one side of myself down. I end up just using an old rucksack a lot of the time, but I had to get a casing for my computer to avoid it being scratched
( ... )

It's really annoying too. :'D I don't know why they stopped putting a space like that in... it's so inconvenient. Dx
YEAH that's what I meant. TSA Locks. The ones where they have a bunch of numbers and you line them up in the right order to open the lock. I like 'em built into the bag, too.. then i can use them or not use them as I wish and they're quick/easy to open
no worries. XD hope I helped a bit..;;
just another thing to say though -- don't make bags with wheels too wide with short handles, because they kind of bump against your legs. *had this problem today*

Ahh TSA locks~~~ The ones i've seen intergrated with the bags are on luggages. Then at my workplace customers come in and complain on why it's not detachable 8DDD well can't please everyone i guess ^_^;; I guess it's never been intergrated in a normal backpack (or any other bag) because of how much it cost the manufacturers to intergrate it in the bag? And that TSA locks are reusable, so customers can just buy one lock and reuse in on other bags!
And yes! All of the opinions given here have helped me a lot! At least now I have a better guide on what to avoid and what to include x3
What about wheels that are too wide? Do you mean the width of the wheel itself or how far apart the wheel is located from one another? As for the short handles...most bags have telescopic/retractable handles..unless you're referring to another type >__<;;;
