I can't see Andromeda aborting her baby. Although it would have solved the Tonks problem...

Not really.
I'm sure she would have rather married Ted Tonks than Bartemius Crouch Jr. This was the best way to accomplish that.

I'm really not sure whether arranged marriages would have been the way to go or whether they were free to choose. Maybe a combination of both, judging by what happened to those that married the wrong people.

Bartemius may have turned out a little more stable had he married Andromeda.
