At least he doesn't look like his grandfather and his uncle from his mother's side.
I like it. There's a wild, violent quality to it that shows what poor Merope's mental state could have been after Tom left. (Uhm, not sure it makes sense).
What's wrong with delivering a baby crouching? If anything, it should be easier than doing it lying on you back with the legs in that awkward position.
Thank you! :) Poor girl; what a nasty life. I worried it was too frantic, knowing what happened next in canon, but I'm glad it works for you.
Oh, there's nothing *wrong* with it; on the contrary, it's the ideal way to deliver (since gravity helps) but I thought that the sterile sorts of the early 20th century, when hospital birth was just becoming popular, would be appalled. Merope knew what she was doing, though!
Nearly cried reading this. Poor Merope. Her broef happiness in life over, she was hoping for the child. Thank the fates that she was able to see him, her beautiful baby who looked like the man she loved.

And her happiness at seeing that the baby looks like his father - a little bit of her that has escaped the horrid Gaunt world.
Little did she know what would become of him, yeah?
