[After deciding that forcing his Pokemon to fight when they're in such an emotionless state is practically animal cruelty and thus does NOT sit right with Phoenix, the man has taken to a more...straightforward method of dealing with the staticy beasties. Namely, by means of a very pixelly bat, which he drags behind him wearily as he enters the Center for a well-deserved break.]
Geez, it's like playing Whack-a-Mole. [He plops down on the couch next to Edgeworth, looking pretty exhausted.]
[Guess who was talking to DAHLIA HAWTHORNE while Phoenix was fighting? Yup, it's the kid sitting next to you.
Edgeworth turns to look at Phoenix with a expression you can't really read. This was different from that time with Mr. Gavin, and while he was desperately trying to trust Phoenix, he couldn't ignore the fifteen years that lay between him and this Phoenix sitting next to him.
Besides, not all criminals got put behind bars. He knew that better than anyone. With his confused thoughts about Phoenix, Edgeworth just sits next to him silently, his eyes glues to the man as he tries to find any clue to tell him if what Dahlia said was true or not.]

Phoenix...had just finished talking to Dahlia himself, and is doing a remarkable job hiding his CRAZY SLEW OF EMOTIONS PRIMARILY FEAR AND WORRY AND LOTS OF OTHERS. He can't possibly know that he and Edgeworth are being bothered by the same thing, though, so he just asks;]

[F-ff Phoenix is talking-- Edgeworth jumps, and he momentarily looks.... afraid? The look in his eyes as his gaze met Phoenix's was definitely terror.]
I'm afraid it's not just the town as it's the same on the route I'm currently traveling as well. From what I've seen I could even say that it's the same all over Johto.
I assume Pess is your Pokemon? This far Umberto has come out only when needed for battle, so I believe the same should apply for your partner too. Even in this odd situation she'll protect you if the need for that arises. Of course it's better to stay away from the monsters and wait in safety for things to return back to normal. [ If they return back to normal... who knows about this world, really. ]
The Pokémon are giving us the silent treatment, and that is unnerving too, but the people. They repeat the same lines like broken records, and it's-- creepy.
I'm sure they will, Miles. [ Kristoph says this with a reassuring smile. ]
Ah, so this affects the people around, too? I'm still on a route, so I didn't know about that. But I guess that means I'll see that myself soon enough.
Are you with your friends right now? If you feel creeped out by the situation I don't mind talking with you, if that's any help. I'm afraid I can't do much else until I reach Violet.
I hope you're safe on the Route. Have you encountered those static monsters?-- I think they were called Missingno. if the world is anything like those video games..
[Edgeworth's eyes flicker to the window, outside of which Phoenix is fighting alongside Apollo. Those lawyers and their heroic attitudes.]
