Well, it was going to die. RIP. Will be at Mooners this Thursday, assuming I'm not dead. Then away to Thailand for the next two - WOO!
And then you abandon me the day I get back. How long are you away for?
Well, the hammers out of the relegation zone, and will stay up this year unless Man-U stitch them up by fielding a strong enough team and if Wigan can win then West Ham will go down on goal difference. But it's more a problem with the legal arguments over them not losing points for the didgy deal with Tevez. They got fined £5.5 million, which is disproportionately high, so they can't really lose points as well, that would be ridiculous - but then it has enabled them to stay up against which is going to make Wigan VERY unhappy. It is an open question as to whether the Premiership will be able to open enxt season on time if the legal issues have not been resolved, which means the Premiership teams won't take legal action - but Wigan won't be in the premiership any more, so they might just do it anyway.
Until the 4th or 5th of June, whicher the Sunday is.
Well, the Arsenal Chelsea match (draw) at the weekend means Man U have won the title so they will not care a jot about the Hammers match and save all their good players so it should be fine. Also, Hammers only need to draw with Man U to definitely stay up. Or something. Basically they're definitely not going to be relegated.
Even against a weak Man-U they will have trouble getting a win to definitely stay up. But then the other team's matches all need to go a certain way as well, so it's not entirely likely. Maybe I didn't chose a doomed team after all.
Tomorrow at 8 downstairs at The Albany (£7) Graham Poole's Film Night with Nick Swift, films from Adam Buxton, MCs David Armand (my book buddy) and Nick Tanner.
