Thanks to all_at_once and moyawyvern for the cards and to gabesaunt for the v-gift. I was delighted by all three.

And printdust sent me the most beautiful card and enclosure ever. I wish you knew how much I love you Robyn.

I've got a backlog of prompts, 2 things I've signed up that are due in the next week, and of course some optional stuff I'm working on for Chuck.

The muse is slightly amused. I have about a half dozen things half done. Maybe I should send you some to work on. ;)

But sometimes if I'm struggling with something, I'll read over something that pleased me (or others) and see if something sparks.

I'm seriously thinking we should do a writers round or something one evening where everyone works on something for one hour and then chats about it after.

Oh, now that is a cool idea. Count me in.

Because from the series of e-mails having landed in my inbox in the last hour I'm thinking, no, you haven't.

Yes, I do listen to you.

*rolls eyes*

My jazzy mail has to do with a number of people, Bubie. Not necessarily you (and it seems to me that someone and her daughter tormented me about my birthday, so Miss Kettle, don't be so quick to call the Pot black...)

On my way out to the airport. Wanted to tell you that I love you too and that your wonderful. Will be thinking about you while I'm hurtling through the air in a tin can; it will bring me peace.

Love you.

Whoops, that was me. On my work computer and I took for granted always being signed in at home.

So sorry.

Love you again,

Robyn

I love this time of year because I love giving people presents. And you're right. It has nothing to do with what the giver likes; it has to do with what the recipient wants. So if my brother wants some god-awful rap CD by a band I absolutely hate, I'll get it for him because it's what he wants.

And to tell you the truth, I never really think about gifts in terms of what I like as compared to the recipient. I get them a gift because that's what they want and I know it'll make them happy. I love seeing people's expression when I've gotten them something they like; it's the best feeling.

Believe it or not, I think you are more the exception than the rule...I know someone who gave their wife a camera that he knew she would never use because he wanted a camera, a wife that gave a husband a bicycle instead of the game unit he wanted because "he needs the exercise"...so many people give other people something that is their taste in jewelry or their taste in clothes.

My officemates boyfriend always gives her something weird because he thinks she should expand her horizons...she has only once liked a gift he gave her.

It's sad really. So, good for you that you are truly giving in that spirit.

When I read your response, I couldn't help but feel disgusted. People do that???

It defeats the whole purpose when you buy a gift for someone else that's actually for you. I'm sorry, but that it doesn't reflect well on a person when they do something like that.

Heifer Internationale is amazing. Ali inspired me to give donations to them for all my family members this Christmas and it has inspired some of them to do the same as well. I had already sent you your gift before I decided to that(I'm surprised you haven't received it yet) but in the future you get chicks or geese for sure.:)

Oh and hi! How are you? I miss you!*Hugs*
