It's a sad state of affairs when getting sick is the only way to slow down and take time off but I know what you mean. Back when H1N1 was such a big deal, several of us at work were talking about how we envied the one among us who had to fly because she might get it and then she'd have time off. And she actually wanted to get it!
Glad that you're feeling better and I hope that Savannah feels better soon.
But, yeah, I've actually said more than once "I wish I would get the flu..." though in my imagination I was able to do a lot more than I was in reality. However, my stellar immitation of a potato was oddly peaceful and appreciated.
"You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster. Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride! I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn't like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it." - Parenthood
I'm sorry you're having a rough go of things right now and I hope you have a better upcoming week. Glad you were able to get some downtime, although I hate it took you getting sick to get that. Tell SBH I hope she feels better soon.
Savannah is still in the throes of it, but I believe the worst is behind her. It's just odd to see her down for such a long stretch. But we're alive and have lots of cool popsicle jokes.
I'm glad to see you taking things easy for a while, although not happy at all that you had to be sick in order to do it. Sometimes we all need to just stop, take a few breaths, and not let the stress wear us down. Glad you are better, that Savannah is going to be doing better soon, and that things are good.
