Hi! New to your f-list here, but I couldn't resist commenting on your snow post. I'm from the Midwest and love love love the snow. :) I lived in Louisiana for six months (part of that time was during the winter) and I missed the snow. I moved back to the Midwest and still love my snow. Yes, it can be a pain in the butt, but once you don't have it you really miss its magic. Whenever it snows here, I'm always outside with my digital camera taking pictures because it's just so beautiful. The novelty never wears off. :)
I so know what a snow day in the South is all about. I've lived in Georgia all my life (save for that short sabbatical in Vegas...where it snowed in April but there was no accumulation). Atlanta all but shuts down at the threat of any winter weather. It's funny to see the news at 11 and see that most of the schools in Atlanta have already decided to close even though no one knows what will really happen with the weather.
But in the off chance it did snow, we were out playing in it regardless of the fact that there may only half an inch on the ground. :-D
See, I love snow and cold weather. Now, I'm sure that if I moved to somewhere like Chicago or New England or Canada, I'd be miserable after a couple of snow storms but since I was raised in the south and only saw snow like three times, I love it.
I don't like ice if I have to drive somewhere but otherwise, anything cold and wet that keeps me inside by the fire is all good.
PS: I'm going to friend you if you don't mind. Where in Atlanta do you live?
The sad part is that you now have more snow than we do up here in PA. Sigh. Though we don't get snowdays, so I suppose it should go where it will be enjoyed more. ;-)

My Dad was from the midwest but lived the last 2/3 of his life in the South. The older he got, the more excited he got about snow.
Glad to know there are some people who see snow regularly and don't hate it.
Thanks for commenting! I'm always tickled to have a new friend.

On top of all that, I hate snow. I hate snow, I hate rain, I hate ice, I hate anything cold. Excempt milkshakes and ice cream.
So I'm feeling very humbug today :D
