Car insurance time

Doh. For the last several years, I'd had my parents and sister as named drivers for the car, for whenever they flew in. However, I've just discovered that taking the parents off knocked £200 off the premium straight away as neither had full UK licenses. Currently looking into the whole media centre thing. Im in the process of finally getting my own pad, so im looking for a media centre for the lounge. But its really got to be to a tight budget if its gonna happen anytime before christmas! I should be able to get away with a very basic setup 1.8ghz processor, 1gb ram, DVD Drive, 80Gb HD should be good enough for a playback machine, all the media is stored on a Buffalo Terrastation (NAS) so its just got to play it back, still it seems to be pretty expensive just for the right case :(

Yeah, the Silverstone etc HTPC cases are pretty pricey so I cheated. I got a Phong II. It's nowhere near as sleek or discreet as a HTPC case (it certainly won't fit under a TV!) but it's colour scheme's not too out of place in a living room. Also makes fitting all the various components a damned sight easier too!

BTW, tell me more about your NAS unit...

Its a 1TB NAS. 4 250Gb drives in a RAID5 array, providing 750GB of secure disk space, prices have dropped a lot since I bought mine last year, they've even given it a facelift:-
