1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?

We have handmade soap on the sick (olive oil in the bathroom, liquorice and goats milk on the kitchen sink) but no soap in the bath, just shampoo, conditioner and bubble bath.

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?

No. Watermelon is the only melon I eat, and then only occasionally, even though I've mostly grown out of not liking melon.

3. Is there anything mouldy in your refrigerator?

Not at the moment, though there's mould in the seal we can't get rid of (its an elderly fridge). And there's ten day old cream, but it still smells okay.

4. Are there any dirty dishes in your sink?

Yes! There usually are. We wash up every couple of days, when there isn't enough space to prepare food any more.

5. What would you change about your living room?

The sofas. The flat as part furnished and we persuaded them to let us use our beds (and now our bed is broken, so we made the wrong call) and gave up our lovely secondhand £50 sofa for two horrible uncomfortable badly made uncleanable monstrosities. Seriously doing my back in on these, and its eaten at least one knitting needle I can't get out because the cushions are sewn on to the frame.

6. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?

I miss having a dishwasher.

7. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?

We are a mushroom free home!

8. White or wheat bread?

Those 50/50 ones, because I don't like the taste of brown but want to feel virtuous. White bread when we make it ourselves or it's on offer at the supermarket.

9. What is on top of your refrigerator?

Freezer bag, picnic mats, picnic bag, portable barbeque I got for completing surveys that arrived too late in the summer to use.

10. What color is your sofa?

Brown cord.

11. What color or design is on your shower curtain?

It's a plastic guard thing, no curtain.

12. How many plants are in your home?

Some chives, some basil, a cactus, and some mostly dead roses I should stop prolonging the misery of, because they're covered in tiny bugs.

13. How many candles are in your home?

We've got a bag of tealights somewhere, and various candle holders. Not sure.

14. Is your bed made right now?

Yes! Jack often does it, so I'm getting in the habit too. By 'made' I mean the duvet is straight. There's a pile of clean washing on top of it, so it's not like you could just get in it, but it is made.

15. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?

There's a small black cafetiere we use most weekends, and a big red one for when there's more than one coffee drinker in the house.

16. Electric or standard can opener?

Slightly mucky metal manual one.

27. Comet or Soft Scrub?

Meteor or fluffy bonsai?

28. Is your closet organized?

I have the large side and Jack has the small side, but apart from that not really.

29. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?

Mostly my phone these days, though there is a bike light somewhere in the house I use, and a squeezy panda torch Jack uses.

30. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?

It depends which drawer that is. The set we sort of use as a filing cabinet has lots of picture frames left over from the previous house, computer programs and blank CDs, payslips, and a broken clock.

31. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?

Glass. We break it all the time, so we don't have more than two of any matching set, but we broke all the plastic ones we had too, so we might as well buy glass.

32. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?

Nope. I did have a pot of proper tea earlier though, which is nice, and I do a good non-alcoholic sangria for summer non-boozing (it uses a ton of pomegranate juice, so it's as expensive as alcohol anyway! Also, doesn't need any added sugar, and you if you want a properly grown up taste you want to really stew the tea)

33. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?

No garages. No spaces solely dedicated to storage at all here.

34. Curtains or blinds?

Flat comes with blinds, really cheap hessian ones that seem to be designed to let light through them. I prefer curtains.

35. How many pillows do you sleep with?

I have one, Jack has two. I hate hotel pillows because they're always too flat to have one and too puffy to have two and I always get a crick in my neck.

36. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?

No, though the lights on the road out the front are bright enough you can navigate the flat by them alone at night.

37. How many ceiling fans are in your home?

None. We have a fan for the bedroom, which is from our old flat because it was too warm to sleep in summer without it (even with the window and door wide open)

38. How often do you vacuum?

Broadly once a week, less often if I'm wearing shoes in the house and don't notice how bad it's gt underfoot. We had a nice hoover at the old house but it broke while we were cleaning the flat after moving out, so we binned it rather than bring it home on the train on the off chance we could fix it. Our new one is huge and ugly and works terribly, and I really want to buy a roomba now.

39. Standard toothbrush or electric?

Standard.

40. What color is your toothbrush?

I have a blue one, but it's getting ratty so I ought to get another out from under the sink.

41. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?

Nope.

42. What is in your oven right now?

Baked on grease. There'll be hazelnut shortbread in it later, though, which will be nice.

43. Is your microwave clean or dirty?

No microwave.

44. Is there anything under your bed?

Lots of bags - backpacks, suitcase, plastic bag of coathangers that we should probably just bin.

45. Chore you hate doing the most?

Washing up, probably. I miss having a dishwasher. Most cleaning, though I'm okay with doing the bathroom and I used to like hoovering before we got our current machines. I almost never dust.

46. What retro items are in your home?

Retro is a weird word. Isn't it 'vintage' for actually old stuff? We have two chest of drawers that are fairly elderly, and a dining room table that needs screwing back together that's got a few decades on it. We did have a sofa that was older than both of us, but it went to the tip a while back.

47. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?

The spare room is mostly used as the office, by which I mean it has a futon piled high with unfiled paperwork and a computer we watch Game of Thrones on.

48. If you have a yard, who mows it?

There's a lawn around the building that the landlord has mown fairly regularly (and loudly). We use it for barbeques occasionally, and the downstairs flats dry washing outside.

49. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?

Black lino that the hoover tore a hole in (I hate our hoover). Also dirt, because despite our hoover's ability to literally suck the colour from the floor it can't manage small crumbs.

50. How many mirrors are in your home?

Five. The built in wardrobe in the bedroom has two, including a full length mirror, plus there's the two big and one small we already owned.

51. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?

I've just bought a new piggy bank for random change that falls out of pockets when doing the washing. My old one (one of those terramundi pots, which it turns out are stupidly expensive for money saving devices) had over £200 in it when we smashed it after moving in here, but I'd been using that since 2002. Anyway, the new box won't be hidden, because it's an adorable panda one.

52. What color are your walls?

Rental property magnolia.

53. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?

None.

54. Do you have a peephole in your front door?

I don't think so. I haven't ever really checked.

55. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?

Nope.

56. What does your home smell like right now?

Jack's cooking, and apparently it's everything in the fridge flavour. Bacon and onions and paprika, I think.

57. Fave candle scent?

I like spicey ones, but we've lost all three of our lighters so we can't light any of the ones we've got at the moment (which I think are appley).

58. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?

No, yuck, no.

59. Who are in the pictures you display?

Me and Jack, and Jack's family. I don't have many family photos, and the ones that used to be out really suffered with light damage so they're mostly in boxes now.

60. What color is your favorite bible?

I didn't think we have one, but Jack's just pointed out we have The Brick Bible, which is yellow, and has all the bible stories recreated in lego. I'm quite tempted to read it now.*

61. Ever been on your roof?

Haven't even been up to the floor above ours!

62. Do you own a stereo?

Yes. We had a broken one for years, and I still can't quite get used to the fact this one doesn't try and take your fingers off when you put a new CD in, even though we've had it for other a year. Mostly use it for music during sunday dinner - otherwise it's spotify on Jack's laptop.

63. How many TVs do you have?

One.

64. How many house phones?

One.

65. Do you have a housekeeper?

Nope.

66. What style do you decorate in?

Flatpack style! We have very little proper furniture yet, apart from two chests of drawers, one of which I acquired from someone else's rubbish and put teapot handles on.

67. Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints?

Probably solid? Though I quite like texture based patterns.

68. Is there a smoke detector in your home?

Yes. It's in the hall, and it beeps if one of us has had a very steamy shower, but has never been triggered by actual smoke. I'm always a bit paranoid about smoke detectors. When I'm not renting any more I'm having one in the actual kitchen (and one where I'm confident it won't set off the alarms for the entire building, because alarms in flats always scare me like that).

69. In case of fire, what are the items you would grab if you only could make one quick trip?

Glasses so I can see! And phone, probably.

70. Do you know how to work your electrical box?

I know how fuses work, if that's what you mean. Our oven keeps tripping them, so we got to know our fusebox very quickly.

71. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?
No idea. It's always slightly colder in here than outside. We have storage heaters in the living room, where one is stuck always off, but it hasn't been a problem so far since we moved here in April. After our previous flat had the boiler in the bedroom and we kept the window open even in winter, it's kinda weird to be somewhere we might actually have to heat if it gets cold.

I tried to @ jossish at first, rather than tag her. Getting rusty!

*ETA: So we're looking at the lego bible now. I'd never considered before how one might render circumcision in lego. I know now. 0.o
