I bought petunias, too, (mixed colours as well) for the entrance-stairs - so lovely. But our strawberries are still completely green - lots and lots of them though.... can't wait!
The "One day-lilies" on the second pic look wonderful but smell quite over-powering :-(

Looks like summer to me!

Except without the donkeys that make hellish noises at 3am, and the mosquitoes and yellowjackets and rattlesnakes and the neighbors with the penfull of hunting dogs that go berserk twice a day and...

They are incredible creatures, and do a world of good. Unfortunately they also tend to frequent the same place, and occasionally pose a problem.

They're really beautiful though.

My rational brain does know all this, but I have feared everything that "slithers" as long as I remember.... it is my one phobia - I pick up spiders and every kind of bugs, but not even the most harmless little snake.

The pond is a big hit with all the birds, naturally. And it is big enough to boast a wooden bridge (without railings), Antje loves to sit on it with her friends.
