And I saw below that someone commented on your shout-out to PubMed, and I just have to say, I kind of squeed at that part too, because of fond memories of part of summer spent trolling PubMed for articles for a research project about genetic basis in case-mapping studies (and then the project got published and *I* was in PubMed, which was greatness in and of itself).

i love PubMed like burning. *grin*

also, i loved that PubMed made a cameo. How many database subscriptions do we think the SGC library has? I'm guessing lots and lots (maybe all of them), and this this why the Defense budget is so big.

because if you don't have web of science, how do you do the literature research to see what has been done before. but if you wanted a database about engineering the helicopters...i'd go with something like IEEE. and the cost for these databases (while a lot) is probably not quite the same as a $14.5 million dollar helicopter.
at least...i don't THINK it is.

I totally volunteer to be the person in charge of the artifacts. Really, she shouldn't stack the bowls like that.

Somehow I never saw the first of these, but the rec for this one came up on my flist, and so I had to read it all, and just ::flail:: how awesome this is!
I love that Claire is smart and savvy and yet ignorant and knows it and likes these people but isn't best buddies with them, and there's all this stuff going on and she's still mostly on the outside. These are wonderful.
(Also? Go UMass! *grin*)
